I have not had to fill up in 2 weeks so Have not paid attention to the Prices. But now the Truck is getting low so time to fill.

Looked at my last fill up. $3.58 per gallon. Looked yesterday at the station I normally use right at $4.20.

Looked on line the Highest price per gal is $4.67 in Oregon. Looks like I'm not going anywhere this year for the summer.

This was just emailed to me,,,,

THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO $2.00 OR LOWER PER GALLON.

This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to read this please.

Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" that was going around last April or May!

It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!

I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down?

We need to take some intelligent, united action.

The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas .

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.

BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can Really work.

Please read on and join with us!

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super cheap.

Me too! It is currently $3.08 at Arco and Costco for regular unleaded in Salem, Oregon and climbing every week.

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us
to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace..not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.

The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.

But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL.

If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce thir prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

    .

perhaps the wall streeters will get scared that if they speculate the prices up too much THEY will get the Mubarak treatment (I prefer the Mussolini treatment for speculators myself, however [:D])

All the stores around here surely sell whatever they can get their hands on and most of them don't have the brand advertised.

There is a Phillips refinery near here but I have no idea what they sell at Murphy, Toot'N'Totum or Pak-a-Sak.

There are Valero stations here though.

DRILL HERE DRILL NOW is the only thing that will effect gas prices. If that POS in office now would just lift the drilling ban we would have almost overnight cheaper gas. Just think if we drilled and sold our oil there would be NO national debt just a surpluss which should be kept a close eye on and we the american people would have cheaper gas OUR OWN!

the only thing that would change is instead of an oil sheik getting the flu, the speculators would use a snowstorm or a buffalo migration or something as an excuse to jack up prices [xx(]

Let's see Monterey Chevron for the cheap stuff was $3.65 today and Marina was $3.52. So I'm sure it'll pass $4.00 in my neck of the woods by summer. And by 2012 it'll be $5.00 and Obama will save us by bringing that down to $4.00 when he gets voted back for four more years.

It was $3.49 Wednesday afternoon in southcentral Minnesota, then up to $3.54 by dark. I paid $3.12 only 10 days ago. And to add insult to injury, my low-fuel bell dinged at me on my way to work this morning. Ouch! I've been preaching since the Arab embargo of 1973 that the U.S. needs to pursue a way to reasonably extract gasoline, etc., from the oil shale in the western states. Yes, I know it's harder to extract than liquid oil. But at some point, how much more expensive would it be than being beholden to the Arab and other nut-job unreliable countries? I'd rather pay $5 a gallon and have energy independence than the $4+ we're headed for from Saudi Arabia, etc. The U.S. has, in a technical sense, greater oil reserves than all the Middle East. It's a shame we can't seem to use them, either because of technological or political roadblocks. And, unfortunately, any way you cut it, the oil companies will once again be reporting record quarterly profits at the end of June.[:(]

Ummm..... The rest of the world's prices are so high because they tax the crap out of motor fuels.

Because it just ISN'T FAIR that not everyone can afford a car!

Fuddernut that. Drill the damn Gulf and Anwar so it looks like a swiss cheese. [:(!]

I wasn't referring to fair, I'm talking about the laws of supply and demand for a finite resource. The days of cheap oil are over and it's only going to get worse.

funny how most people have no clue as to why fuel costs what it does here and in other countries... I hear it all the time... "well in the UK they pay $10 per gallon"... etc...

Until this nation adopts a real energy plan. Gas prices will continue to be out of control...

When we have electric cars the power company will do the same without a energy plan.

Gas prices vary with the emotional highs and lows of people who trade in oil futures. They have been running scared because there is civil war in Libya, a country with 2% of the world's oil.

It's not a conspiracy, it's a herd mentality of people who treat investing as if they are a bunch of middle aged ladies watching "As The World Turns" or "General Hospital" and reacting as if the characters are deeply loved members of their own families.

Unless they are there in that country I agree as all web searches I just did came up with either 2008 or 2005 Prices.
