So for those who do ride.

What performance Gains if Any.

quote:Would I get By changing my Exhaust. 06 Heritage Classic Stock Pipes Screaming Eagle Slip Ons with BCT Baffles. Have a Big Sucka Aircleaner. Also using a Bigshot2 tuner.

Have 3 in mind

V&H Long Shots

Samson Long Horns

D&D Fat Cat 2 into 1

Thinking the Fat Cats would be the only one to show any Improvement.

A change of cam may be on the list and will that make any in the differance exhaust.

Just want to confirm what I'm thinking. Lots of folks suggested those other Pipes and claimed they made a Bunch Of power. But after doing some research that just does not compute.

I like the look of the long double barrel myself, but yours has the hard bags with the exhaust that comes out underneath?

Was wondering the same about my Fat Boy Lo.

I am having a set of Vance & Hines Big Radius 2-2 pipes, and Screaming Eagle Heavy Breather & intake along with a new High Pro module.

Not sure what effects these changes will have, but i know it will be loader.[:D]

If all you are worried about is the sound of the exhaust.

Why not just install straight pipes and tie a tin can over the end of them?

Actually these twin cams do not like open exhausts. They flat do not run good. Need some back pressure to run right.

The V&H Big Radius is about the same as the long shots. Stock Exhaust is better with different mufflers. The Screaming eagle intake fell apart on mine. That was why I went with the Big Sucka By Arlen Ness( Actually I ordered something else from him so I combined the order to save on shipping).

High Pro module I have not heard of. But depending on Your year if its an 07 or higher I would look at the TTS Master Tune or the Power Vision by Dyno Jet.

Gear drives are real Loud and Expensive. But do need to change out the cam chain tensioner. So am Looking at the Andrews Tensioner Kit with the 26 N Cams to go with it. This Kit upgrades the tensioners to the 07 and newer engines which is a better set up than I Have.

I installe a pair of Rush Performance slipons on my 2011 Heritage since they require no other mods or programming. For the present moment I just wanted to hear the bike, factory pipes was too quiet! I could hear the valve clatter over the pipes, not cool!

In my opinion, "performance" and "Harley Davidson" are mutually exclusive. If you want performance, sell the Harley and buy a Yamaha V-Max, or any crotch rocket on the market. Even a Ninja 250 will smoke a hopped up Harley so bad it's not even funny. Harleys can be made faster than stock, sure, but it's kind of like polishing a turd. I own a Harley and I love it and I'm not suggesting that they're turds, but I think you'll understand my point. You have a nice looking bike by the way. But I would vote that you enjoy it as it is, as a nice comfortable cruising bike to go see stuff with. If you still really want performance, buy it a friend to share the garage with.

Ok you sort of get my point. Why throw on an Exhaust that looks good but I loose power with it. Not much there as it is. What to at least keep what I have or Improve. May do a cam change but that cause of my years problem with the cam chain Tensioner. They have the wear pad explode. So while changing the tensioners Might as well go to a slightly better cam only $280 buck more.

PS no more crotch rockets, Hit a deer on that Harley and my right Knee does not bend well enough to ride one. Had to get rid of my Katana Because of that( that and I was not riding it enough and got tired of cleaning the carbs because of the New fuel). Also riding Position with the head slightly up(bent back) causes a Muscle Spasm between my shoulder Blades. Getting old sucks.

There is still hope for you. A sport touring bike may be just the ticket. I know, I know, but I do have a point here. A sport touring bike like a hayabusa or zx14, among others, will have all the performance you could possibly desire, along with a more relaxed riding position for you to fit into. (bad wreck on a gsxr here, I know what you're saying about the knees and neck) Not a true superbike so insurance costs plummet. Get one with fuel injection and you won't have to worry about cleaning carbs. You need to run it on premium anyways (if you follows the manufacturers recommendations) so fuel breaking down isn't as much of a hassle...

Before I bought my harley, I had a zx10r and a honda fury chopper. I gotta say, I love my harley, but I do miss having the option for comfort cruise or fast blast to blow off some steam...

Not sure the Knee could even take the Hayabusa. My Son is trying to push me that way. With an E-mail of Hayabusadave that should tell you what he likes.

The old Katina was a Sport tour so had a More relaxed riding Position.

Had it geared to accelerate so Top speed was way reduced about 140MPH but 0-60 somewhere around 3 seconds just 2 gears. What a way to wake up in the Morning.[:D] I do miss that.

I know what you mean. The shift light on my zx10 came on at 105mph in first gear. No, that is not a typo.

    grumpygy,

What I was trying to type but it didn't come out that was was a High Performance TTS Master Tune module.

I went with the Vance Hines pipes over stock, because I think the stock pipes look like stacks off a BBQ smoker...[;)]
