I just pooped my pants

Just got home and figured I would work on cleaning out the garage before winter. I was carrying a ladder down to the barn. As I rounded the corner I came face to face with a nice bull moose and a few yards to the left was a cow. I could have reached out and touch his nose. Luckily for me he turned and ran. Now I have to yo take a shower.

He's probably telling his friends the same thing.

"like yeah, ya know. just out of the blue some people rounds the corner with a ladder on his shoulder"

Would that be a natural repellent for moose?

I know it would be for me

Excellent move actually. No one has ever been attacked by a moose when armed with a ladder.

No kidding don't you need a ladder to climb up and look them in the eye?

They are as big as long legged draft horse, I don't know if I'd have dropped the ladder or messed myself first! Glad you are ok!

He probably thought the ladder was your antlers and it was bigger than his.... that's why he ran.

They have moose in Idaho? I didn't know that. I thought they were only in Maine and Alaska. Who knew? (Not me!)

I see more moose during elk season, than elk.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

I wonder if he saw the ladder as a rack? I know young males are pretty easily intimidated by big antlers.

I actually did that once. I blew a tire on my motorcycle at 70 MPH. Do you have any idea how hard it is to push a motorcycle with your pants full of poop? I am really glad they don't have tubes in the tires anymore.

Just heard we have Moose even here in Oregon. Ttat I did not know.

I ran into a Bull elk out in the wood the day before hunting season. All I had with me was my camera and I was so scared I forgot I even had that. He was way to close and was wanting to protect his girls.
