According to Master Sergeant Lang Hinkle, on September 27, 2012 at approximately 6:56 a.m., the OSP Northern Command Center dispatch received a report from a 41-year old male that the driver of another vehicle shot at him as he was passing northbound on Interstate 5 near the Glenwood interchange. The bullet narrowly missed his head and damaged two windows before the suspect vehicle took the Glenwood exit.
Following the initial investigation, OSP troopers checked area parking lots in the vicinity of Glenwood Boulevard. A trooper found a pickup matching the suspect vehicle's description parked in the 1600 block of Glenwood Boulevard. Early Thursday afternoon, OSP troopers contacted the vehicle's driver, LAWRENCE ALLEN MICHAEL, age 50, from Pleasant Hill, at his workplace and subsequently arrested him the following charges:
* Attempted Murder
* Menacing
* Unlawful Use of a Weapon
* Discharging Weapon Across Highway
* Pointing Firearm at Another
* Criminal Mischief in Second Degree
A handgun was seized as evidence and MICHAEL was lodged in the Lane County Jail pending an appearance in Lane County Circuit Court
