How many auto car wash are too many

Just wondering as they are running a special at the local car wash called a club card. You can have your car washed everyday, Vacuumed , Wiped down, auto wax from the wash and tire shine. Most people I know do it once or twice a week and I'm wondering about the paint and all the washing

i cant speak specifically to auto car washes, but when i worked on the ambulance we washed the rig at the end of every shift. on the 8hr trucks, that was three times a day. they didnt seem to mind it...

My Tundra has always been "hand-washed" only. I never use automatic car washes.

I pay 10KD (aprox $36) a month to have my BMW washed daily.

Not a chance I would ever run a car / truck thru an automatic car wash. Use spotless car liquid, bucket, microfiber towels. Camaros in fact have never had any water/ rain on them.

My truck got washed yesterday, it rained.

When i worked at UPS, they washed their trucks every day (probably still do).

But they also refurbed and repainted them every few years.


I think for most cars, once a week is plenty. After drying, it should be driven to dry up the water in the tiny areas to prevent rusting.

I think that the dirt on a car holds moisture, causing rust as well.

I'm not so much worried about getting the places you can see clean as the places you never see. My car wash has a under body wash, while not good, is better than nothing. I try to keep the salt off the bottom and keep an eye on the spots that are mud traps and never seem to get clean. I worry more about rot than I do about how shiny it is.

I periodically take a pair of ramps with me to the quarter wash and hit those hidden spots. One of my Jeeps just turned 25.

Its raining mine are being washed well at least the truck and Jeep. HD is nice and dry.
