Today was the first day of 2nd season in Illinois. Shot this fat
3 1/2 year old doe at 7:50 a.m.....Still have another Tag and my
sons and I will be out the next couple days if the weather holds.

I can smell the venison chile.
I fired and she ran about 25 feet and fell right where I took the picture. Did not have to drag her an inch, I drove my vehicle right to her and hauled her off.
Here is a shot back from where she fell. You can sort of see my ground blind up the hill by the fallen tree.

Great day for sitting in a ground blind! THe wind wasn't too bad. Way to go!
20 MPH winds from the west all day...the downed tree I was set up in blocked the wind most of the day. Looking forward to tomorrow.
