Programs on the assassinations of Martin Luther King and Abraham Lincoln. Both are older, resurrected programs.

I love the History Channel. I think a minimum of one year of watching every program should be a requirement for anyone wanting to run for office

I was curious about the timing, and the reason for presenting the programming now.

Is it because we are near the anniversary of the assassination of President Kennedy?

Or, is it because we have a President-Elect who is likely to be the target of assassination attempts?

AS much as I disaprove of the election of said individualI would never condone such a thing. The office is supposed to stand for something, it is up to the elected to show his true colors.

This man will do nothing but piss off every fringe group along the way.

The gays wont get what they want=pissed
The Latinos wont get what they want=pissed
The anti-gunners wont get what they want=pissed
African Americans wont get what they want=pissed

I would never condone such a thing either, but threats have been made, and plots have been uncovered. Some have made the news. Maybe the timing of the programming is just a coincidence.

I think every president has had their life threatened. GW had a few, Clinton did as well. We all know about Reagan and Carter :D

Yeah, like I said it is just a matter of time. He is in a no win situation, granted he put hiself there. He has far too much political i.o.u.'s to even attempt to make good on half his promises.

Change? His entire cabinet is going to wind up being has beens, and debt repayment. We need only wait. Two years in he will be a lame duck.

Stay vigilant and be willing to move when we need to to protect our rights and we will come through this much better than expected

If there is an assassination attempt I certainly hope that it does not involve a firearm. If it does we can depend on more gun control on a par with the NFA and GCA, both of which were knee-jerk reactions to criminal use of guns.

ref: strikeout above..he won't be producing on a promise to the "anti's" to [hit the ground running] on gun legislation. That's why they'll be pissed. 2A is very "back burner" for the forseeable future. Given the current state of global intrigue, we're small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. Joe

Especially if we force them to put it there.

People need to realize that it all stops here with us, when it is first introduced or before. We cannot rely on lobby groups, or others to handle our fight now. If any anti-firearm legislation passes this time we will have nobody to blame but ourselves.

We are informed, the ball is in our court.

givette, I have heard that there is an expectation that the new President will sign an executive order almost immediately, banning the importation of high-capacity magazines and the firearms that use them.

Rock: I hope it's pre-inaugural hype, for all our sakes.

If what you said is true I wonder if enough pressure can be placed in the right places to include other manufactured goods in the same package? Perhaps the ones that are driving the American industrial laborer to the relief lines? Wow! wouldn't that be a coup! Joe

I don't think so, I think he will hit it right away so it will be forgotten by mid term elections, he in fact promised the HCI that he would do it in his first 90 days....

wow, a politician that doesn't listen, who would ever believe that? I still stick by the fact that we have to move then at the first sign.

People throw excuses about not having enough money to go, but there is always wiggle room in to buy another toy or eat out three times a week.

People say they have other plans, but what is more important than our freedom?

If people do not organize this time I still believe they only have themselves to blame. There wont be another chance. Just because our stuff will be grandfatered does not make it right. We have an obligation for future generations to live as fre men/women as well.

An organization needs to promptly sue in a sympathetic court. Use the abortionists model.

Get a stay before it can be implemented then overturned in a lower court. We have Heller.
