in the world? Imagine the one job without which civilization would be hurt tremendously. I think it's teaching. Without teachers knowledge transfer would come to a crawl if not a screeching halt. Innovation would become extremely rare and ignorance would flourish.

W/o someone growing food, the rest of the population is DEAD.
the most important job in the world is "GOOD MOTHER". She incorporates all the above and has the ability to start you in the first place.
What a bunch!!!

I totally agree with you. [:)] I was describing the role, not the title of the person. Long before there were formally titled school teachers and official protectors/cops, there were families and family groups. The parent(s) performed the role of protecting and teaching all life skills and knowledge.
Then Hunter. You can make food, shelter, tools etc.
Without it, everything shuts down.
Actually, the * has the most important job, jus' sayin.
But, then again I may be speaking redundantly!
..It is hard to argue against teachers. (and Mothers)
I guess all the sewer workers quit while we weren't looking. [}:)]
Contadino or something like that Farmer
Filitrice or something close in spelling Midwife
Most of the records.
Brad Steele
What job is the most important you ask? Somementioned farmers, teachers, toilet paper manufacturing and there are a zillion other jobs out there that in some way help support modern life!
Farming by itself will only benefit the farmer and those living close to him.
Teaching today is useless without modern teachig aids.
Toilet paper does you no good sitting in the wharehouse!
Modern society today cannot live without many things but there is one job that if you take it away we are doomed!!
Trucking!!!! Yes, trucking!!! Ya bunch of dummies!!!!
How in the hell does the food get to the store? How does a teacher grt teachig aids?? How does anyone get anything?
Even the "off grid" mountain men and pioneers need supplies, how did those supplies get to where they can buy it?
Gasoline?? Even those off gridders use gasoline for thier chainsaws and snow machines!!
Y'all is stooooooopid if you think American would last more than a few days if the trucks went away!!
And don't go thumping your chests saying you could survive because there is only a few people here who could honestly live 100% solo with no outside supplies!!
Now get out of my friggin way, I gots important things to do!!!!!!!!
Bunch of idjits [8D][:D][:)]
Fluffer.
i love a good fluffer
Thanks everyone. You helped me settle an argument with a buddy.
Don't leave us hanging, who won the argument and how did you pick a winner?[;)][:)]

Protector. Of yourself and your family. Then, Teacher, in the role sense, not the academic teacher of our school systems. Think of it. Your primary duties as a parent are to safeguard your offspring to ensure the continuation of your line, and ultimately, the species. Then your next job is to teach the child about life. How to avoid danger and how to provide for his own family. The basics.
Farmers are only interested in their pocket book and will fill it by any means possible. I've totally lost respect for that bunch. They are destroying wildlife habitat and with no guilt or interest whatsoever. They are only interested in Numero Uno
..And...who is not interested in their pocket book? If you indeed have no respect, then give up all meat, wheat, corn and everything else you eat except what you grow yourself.
..Destroy wildlife habitat? Name one industry that doesn't do so in one way or another. True that fields are now fence line to fence line to gain another acre or two. However, I know several farmers that leave rows of corn for wildlife in the winter or toss out a couple bales of hay for the deer. Along with hunters, many farmers are good stewards of the land.

IN the world, it would be a soldier. The soldier protects the teacher and the farmer.
I would probably agree if the teacher was private school and totally detached from GOVERNMENT.
Plumber. Next question.
Ya beat me tuit... [B)]
