I just received a package in the mail full of M-4 and M9 magazines. I have some thank-you's to write in the next few days. My hat is off to those who gave me a hand. I will welcome any ideas on how I can repay my gratitude. I have some ideas but I wanted to say "thanks". You all were a big help!
In other news, serious butt is being kicked in this region despite a recent setback that occurred Tuesday night. I was driving down a route parallel to another route that goes through the market district of the city where my squad lives and works. A few miles separated the road I was travelling from the road that was running parallel. "BOOM!" We looked right and saw the black cloud of smoke resulting from a massive car bomb that created massive civilian casualties. We saw it in time to change our route which also gav eus a chance to do some off-roading as well. Someone up there is looking out for us. We were heading towards that road and we were delayed at our previous location. Who knows? 15 minutes of delay from a civilian contractor might have saved our butts. Living in the city is certainly exciting and full of wild experiences.
All is well out here in Tal Afar. Once again, thanks for everyone's kind words and kind acts. It's definitely appreciated. Thank You letters to follow soon.

Take Care.
Too old to live...too young to die...
Maybe just a thank you .
The people that helped IMHO would want nothing in return .
They respect and care for you and your safety is paramont with them .
SxS
You get back here and I promise, on my honor, that dinner is on me. Heck, I'll take your brother too. Isn't he at Bragg?
Ids...you are a top of the line guy here on GB, and as I have said, we should be thanking you.

Yep. My bro is at Bragg. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll still be able to take my R&R in September before returning here to finish out my deployment. If all goes as planned, I'll be able to fly home to the midwest and spend some time with him. If not, we might be crossing paths in the air. Then again, it might work out well if I don't get to go on R&R in September. Then I'll probably be able to take 4 weeks of leave when the deployment is over instead of the 2 weeks that we're supposed to get. I appreciate it and I'll definitely let everyone know if I get the 30 days instead of the 14. That means I'll be making some east coast visits.
There are newbies that might like to send something, along with reg members who may have misplaced an addy....
miss you posting, idsy
yeah, next time don't * off for a 4 wheeler[:D][:D]
Stay safe bro!!!!
