Dumped Bank of America

Went to a Credit Union.

Bank of America..One account has been opened, I will dump your bank very soon.

1. Failed to have enough cash on hand 9k dollars on one occasion.

2. Our account was hacked..not once but twice.

3. Told the seller of a car.. the cashiers check drawn from their bank was not good. The buyer could put a stop payment on it. That is not true..Stop payments cannot be issued on a cashiers check for 90 days.

4. Appraisal on our home for home equity was computer generated instead of someone looking at the home.

5. Bank looked at wrong property for appraisal. Argued the home was in an LLC and it wasn't. Their ignorant employee didn't do her job correctly. Quote.. Bank of America does not make mistakes. Unquote

However the Federal Credit Union said Quote.. Bank of America is our Best Customer.. they send us a lot of customers .. unquote.

I've had a credit card from BofA for years; never had an issue. But I do my "banking" with federal credit unions.

Bank of America is a mirror of all of America today.

Once upon a time, both were great and honest, and respected.

My oh my.....have times have changed.

My CC with them -since 1988- eventually had a credit limit of $30,000. Further, they promised I'd have a fix rate for life. 7.9% on purchases. So when that promise goes out the window, I call them. They look at my limit, and say they have to cut it. That it is a mistake.

Told them to just go ahead and cancel the card. My credit score then went up.

Have had endless aggravations from a series of banks and credit unions.

BankOne would not honor a check from one of their largest commercial accounts for two weeks. Put me in a hell of a bind.

Wells Fargo was a constant nightmare of errors and mystery fees.

CitiBank practically begged me to do a HARP2 refinance on a home they already had the mortgage on. After months of providing paper and paying fees they revealed that the original loan was a mistake as it was a type of property they did not make loans on. So it wasn't eligible for a new loan with them. I got some of the money back at least.

A credit union constantly mixed up my account with my mother's. The first time was a little funny, but the third time those accounts got closed.

Somehow, starting with the original Valley Bank in Tucson through a series of bank mergers and name changes, Bank of America is the only one I have not had a problem with.

    Just random luck I suppose.

They denied our equity line of credit on the house. Funny we already have it, and it was a renewal. I reckon I made the woman mad when I told her they DID MAKE A MISTAKE AND CHECKED THE WRONG PROPERTY. I will send her a thank you note that enough mistakes thru the years have happened.

Isn't BOA the bank that said only white people need a drivers license to bank there not Hispanics
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

I did have a home equity credit line with BofA that evaporated. When the housing market crashed here BofA began cutting the credit lines back. Went from $50,000 to $25,000 to $12,500. Then they just closed it for further use as I paid it off.

The only dealing I have had with BoA is buying a house they owned a couple years ago which had been foreclosed on.

If I had not already been aware of how ridiculous they are I would have been upset with their methodology.

Without warning, they called at 4:00PM and said we have to close today. Mind you they are somewhere else not here in Central Florida.

I finally talked to the guy and asked how he expected me to get a cashier's check and be at a closing an hour after being notified.
They agreed to do the closing the following day as long as we kept the paper work the day before meaning they would not own the house the extra day and pay the taxes for a day.
It had to be their way and any other even correct was unacceptable but as stated its like knowing the guy will be a Nazi or KKK or Black panther and you already know they can not be reasonable so you play along.

It is beyond me they have a single customer.

I have been with a CU since 1992. they have very rarely made a mistake but they bend over backwards to fix it and make up for it.

Wife's employer paid employees thru a Bank of America account. We were going out of town and stopped at BOA to cash her pay check. Bank of America charged us $8.00 to cash the check. We paid because it would have ruined our plans.
Later, thru the union, she make her employer aware of what Bank of America was doing. The employer changed banks.

I hadn't thought about how many years I've been with BofA. It's at least 30, possibly as many as 35. Includes periods when I have had accounts in other banks at the same time.

I do not doubt anyone's story of having troubles with BofA. But for me, no troubles with them. In fact it is the only bank I have not had troubles with. I never have to pay for Cashier's Checks. Have never been charged for notary services. Have never had an error in my BofA account.

Cannot say any of those things about two credit unions I was with, BankOne (or was it "Bank1"?), CitiBank, Arizona Bank, Valley Bank, Wells Fargo, Zion Bank and a few others who's names escape me at the moment.

Now there's something I agree with ya on
Although always described as a cowboy, Roswellnative generally acts as a righter of wrongs or bodyguard of some sort, where he excels thanks to his resourcefulness and incredible gun prowesses.
