CCW On a boat?

If you carry while on a boat (personal Watercraft), does it have to be concealed. I'm in Indiana. Not saying I'd carry it, just want it around. A thigh drop-platform is on my mind.
Half of the lives they tell about me aren't true.

FL doesn't allow open carry. I know a lot of PC riders who place their firearms in a waterproof bag inside the PC's storage box.
I have a 23' center console and place my gun in the "glove box" in the console and if I'm over-nighting, take along a Mossberg Mariner as well.

If open carry is allowed in your state, I don't think it would be a wise thing to do. If you take a spill at 25 or more MPH, you run the risk of losing your firearm.

Cubs, as I understand the permit, we do not have a CCW permit in Indiana. What we have is a PPP, a Personal Protection Permit, and it does not place a restriction that the weapon has to be concealed. I would not carry one exposed under normal circumstances, but I don't think you need to worry about the situation on a boat.[:)]

You wouldn't believe the invaders on Indiana Beach. I think they just want our corn to distill for fuel.[;)]

Not sure what *the laws are here in MO., but twice when float fishing the river in a smaller jon boat(with my young son) I was glad I had a firearm aboard. The first time a drunken group in three large jet boats decided to make a game of trying to capsize my smaller jon boat and were determined to succeed, until I let them see the pistol I had aboard. When they saw that they headed down-stream, never to return.[:D][8D]

Laws vary from state to state. On a jet ski, open carry is questionable due to environment. And taking a spill onto your piece at speed will hurt- a lot. If you have a carry permit, zip lock bag in the storage compartment. I don't use a personal watercraft- but I do fish from a Jon boat- and my carry permit is good in "no gun" areas of state parks and state wildlife mgt areas. Piece fits inside my PFD. And no, no pirates here- but do camp on the islands over a weekend, and have had drunken idiots on the water- and it's kinda hard to call 911 on the river.
