I stumbled on this great site and saw an opportunity to ask something I've been wondering. English is not my native language, so please excuse the errors (only in grammar or spelling - I don't expect any slack when it comes to the views I express...).

I'm a strong believer in the right to bear arms and live in a country that has few restrictions - but more than the majority of you would accept. In addition to a clear criminial record you need to pass a course on gun safety and spend a couple of days at the shooting range with an experienced trainer. You're the free to buy any rifle as long as it's not a military type automatic. They might nag a bit if you want a 50 cal, but it's still allowed. For handguns there's a requirement to join a club and then show that you know how to use the desired model. All in all, I'm ok with the Swedish regulations and there's no debate regarding further gun control in our society.

I know that the 2nd amendment is almost holy to many of you, but maybe a system like ours could put a stop to the seemingly endless attacks you now suffer from "gun ignorants" and their only valid argument (in my opinion) which is that guns shouldn't be carried around by people who doesn't know how to use them.

I presume you already have laws for compulsary military service in case the employed troops aren't enough. Compulsary training of "the armed militia" (isn't an armed militia what the 2nd amendment is all about) shouldn't be controlled by the goverment, but a referendum could put it in place, decide the scope and establish a self-regulating system that'd be "untouchable". Wouldn't that scare the criminals and keep the paper pushers in DC in line!

What exactly happened to Bob Milek?

I went through a personal tragedy back then and wasn't keeping up on things. When I got back to normal, whatever that is, and started getting Guns & Ammo etc. again they would refer to "the late" Bob Milek but I have never heard what happened.

I normally wear a fedora, but occasionally I'll wear my squadron or ship ball cap. I wear it normally with the bill keeping sun out of my eyes.

I follow the standard rules of real men. I take my cover off in hospitals, dining facilities, religious buildings. mortuaries, bars without fail and usually any place inside a building.

I wear hats, but I don't care for baseball caps. If the structure you walked into has a roof, you should remove you hat.

Seasonal for me. Sunlight shade in the summertime daylight, and with any "cover" that I wear, I always remove it when I enter a space or room. Wear hardhats at work al day long.

did not matter I wore one in weddings ,funerals, family get tog ethers, I had one on [:(] even in my house watching TV [B)]
I had a buddy now dead ) wore his to bed never took it off except to shower .
I do take it off for prayers( If involved )and for the national anthem or a show of respect in some cases
    when played

I wear a baseball hat if I don't shower in the morning. I don't care about how I look, I'm the boss.

I wear a ballcap in the fall during hunting season, it's orange and must be 100 sq inches to be legal. I usually wear it with the bill forward but sometimes with the bill backwards when I get up close and personal with the scope.

I wear a ball cap on weekends and when I don't shower.
I wear a fedora or Cowboy hat occasionally too.
On real cold days, I wear a Stormey Kromer.
My hunting hats are an orange felt/goretex cowboy hat or orange Stormy Kromer.

I tend to wear a hat whenever I go outside. I admit that I tend to violate my Navy training in how I wear my hat. If I go somewhere where I will be staying on my feet, walking around or whatnot I tend to leave it on. I remove it if I go to sit somewhere. If I wear a hat to Church (not very often but it happens) I remove it as soon as I'm inside. I drive for a living and usually remove my hat while I drive unless I need it to keep the sun out of my eyes.

It has been my observation most people who wear them sideways or backwards need to pull their pants up.

I live in high elevation desert. After a certain age, sunburned scalp is a problem. While I was never a hat guy, I am now. Usually fedoras, wool or straw, but at times a cap makes more sense. Bill forward for me, but reversed when hunting with a scope.

I hate to think the future of the country will be in the hands of guys that don't know how to wear a cap.

well we went out to eat twice last week which is unusual for us and it appears every one under thirty five or so has one glued to their head 24/7 no matter where they are. Like a lot of you I gave mine up when I left The air force. I usually don't run into the backwards pants below the * type individuals.

I am a fan of hats of all kinds, but they have to be worn front side front (except for in certain circumstances, as mentioned re: scope), removed when indoors, and be tipped to the ladies as appropriate.[:)]

Never was a fan of them. But as I am left with little hair on top, I use them to protect from sun in the summer and freezing in the winter. Baseball cap in the summer and Stormy Kromer in the winter. Always wear them straight and take them off indoors (army habit).

Wore a ball cap for years golfing.

Have switched to a wide-brimmed hat the last couple of years to keep from losing the skin on the top of my ears. A little more sensitive to skin cancer concerns as the years march on.

Cowboy hat when not at work. Baseball hat only if I am shooting. I do wear a knit hat during the winter sometimes, if it is really cold. Hat worn like it should, not sideways or backwards. [}:)]

Like several of the folks said- Agent Orange and sun damage to skin, so I wear a hat, cap or hardhat whenever I am outdoors, remove when indoors. Bill to the front except when using a scope.
