Does anyone use brass shotgun shells?
Any benefit, over plastic?

They are hardly worth messing with. They require special size fiber wads. In most cases, they will not interchange with different guns since you can't size them. They are interesting conversation pieces, but that's all.

I gave up trying to reload .410 plastic shells. The crimps kept coming open. Brass shells wouldn't have that problem. I make 45/70 shot shells using toilet paper for wads & crimped in .45 gas checks over 1/2 oz shot.

The advantage of the all brass shells was not over plastic, but over paper shells- especially where a shell would be exposed to moisture, or chambered and extracted several times (military/ law enforcement use)
