We lost a good one

Have just returned from the funeral for Dep. Robbie Greene. Robbie died this past Weds in a car crash while trying to stop a drugged up jerk that was evading a license checkpoint. The jerk had multiple priors- which is why he had a suspended license. Robbie grew up here in the county where he worked as a Deputy for the past 7 years. He was a 12 yr veteran of the National Guard, and a former volunteer firefighter. He leaves a wife- his highschool sweetheart- and a 3 yr old son. Robbie had volunteered to start his night shift early so he could take his son to preschool the next morning. His funeral was moved to the county high school- since about 2000 local residents in this little rural county showed up for the funeral. In light of some other posts on this forum about bigotted cops, I would mention that the attendees were black, white, and asian. The jerk is currently being held without bail on felony charges of eluding, assault, and driving on a suspended or revoked license (felony) as well as reckless driving for the 100+ mph break for escape. Robbie was an active member of his church, worked with the kids program, and baseball team. Robbie, we are gonna miss you. And for all that post here ranting and screaming about cops- may God grant you peace.
