Luger in 45 ACP

Well guys I have seen my first one of these. I guy stopped by my home to try and sell me a very rare Luger 45. I know from history that they only made 2 and one is missing. I think this guy knew that as well and wanted me to buy it or try to sell it. I had to break the news to him that this is not the one that he thinks it is. I know there is a guy out there that is making the Luger in 45 and this is one of his pistols. Very nice pistol at that. I told him that I think these pistols are going for about 5 grand but I was not sure of it because I have not dealt with them or even held one before. He took his pistol and left my home I think a little upset about what I told him but hey you know that playing with fire will get you burned. I also have a little problem with how he acted about it and knew very little about Luger in general, I kind of think this pistol is stolen . I wrote down the serial number to it and have a good friend that is a police officer and plan to talk to him about it. We will see how this all shakes out.

John Martz has made .45 Lugers by cutting and welding two 9mms.

So some guy is going door to door trying to sell a 45acp Luger??? That doesn't make any sense...

I had a guy come to my house one time trying to sell a full auto mp-5. He had "heard" I was into firearms and was trying to unload it for $600.00. I told him to wait outside and I was going to cal to verify the value as I knew nothing about them. County showed up in less than 5 minutes after the call. Fastest polisce service I have ever received [:D]. I fired the guy that told him about my "interest" in firearms and gave him my address [:(!]

Wow, what a coincidence! Today someone came by my house and offered me a fully functional Sherman tank, along with 150 live shells of ammunition for the cannon, and 1000 rounds of .30 caliber belted ammunition for the machine gun. I believe he was in a hurry to unload it, so I was a bit uneasy (knowing that Sherman tanks don't come around that often). He wasn't asking much for it either, so that pretty much told me it wasn't his to sell. To avoid any conflict, I suggested that it may not be politically correct for me to own a Sherman tank in our town and suggested that he consider donating it to our local museum at Fort Missoula. He bowed his head in shame and advised me that is where he stole it from. I told him not to worry about me ratting him out, then advised him of a fellow GB member here that may be interested. [;)]

Do I have to have my neighbor post to back my story? [:D]

OK guys, this guy is a local one, I know of him and have had him in my shop a few times, I just have never really dealt with him or sold him anything. I should have taken a few pictures of it but did not think to do it so you internet spies would not have to speak up about anything or make something out of nothing!

Only thing that showed up at my door was a couple of Jehovah Witness. They did not have a gun so I showed them mine. Don

He was trying to rip you off if that Sherman didn't come with a "Ma Duce" on top of the turret. [8D]

    hobby guy
    you were smart to turn down the sherman tank;
the engine wasn't original and the 30cal jammed every 200-300 rounds!
wait till he comes down in price......

Guy showed up yesterday trying to sell me a 'shorty 40'. Before he even named his price, I told him I didn't have that kind of cash. He then offered me a bounty if I could find another one for him! 'yeah right' I said, 'we all know how rare those are!'

I sent a couple on their way by talking gibberish and waving a hatchet around. I think one of them wanted to try and save my soul from the obvious demon possession but the other one dragged him back to their bikes. Every once in a while somebody in the family will bring it up and we'll have a laugh.

(I was in the front of my folks' old house doing some yardwork, I don't normally pack a hatchet.)

Yep, Martz does all kinds of trick stuff with Lugers & P.38s, including chopped and channeled ones in addition to unusual chamberings, and his straw coloring on the right parts is to die for. A true artisan.

A search for "martz" on this site will show you a few.

I'd like that Luger in 45 but the advertized 6"-357 SIG sounds more appealing.

ROFLMAO! Actually had that happen- was running a field ex that morning, had just finished putting on warpaint, wearing cammies, LBE with blade hanging on shoulder, opened door just as they were ringing the bell. REAL short conversation![:p]
