Questions on the Flooding in Iowa

Some thoughts I'll just pass along without additional comments:

Questions on the Flooding in Iowa:
The below is so very true. The self reliance shown by people of the midwest stands so far apart from the people in New Orleans that were in the same situation.
Also, there was/is zero looting. I have pretty much given up hope for the 'victims' of that culture. Welfare has reduced them to what they are today. Sad, very, very sad...

Where are all of the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for help in restoring Iowa and helping the folks affected by the floods?

Where is all the media asking the tough questions about why the federal government hasn't solved the problem? Asking where the FEMA trucks (and trailers) are?

Why isn't the Federal Government relocating Iowa people to free hotels in Chicago?

When will Spike Lee say that the Federal Government blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines?

Where are Sean Penn and the Dixie Chicks?

Where are all the looters stealing high-end tennis shoes and big screen television sets?

When will we hear Governor Chet Culver say that he wants to rebuild a 'vanilla' Iowa, because that's the way God wants it?

Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete with reports of
cannibalism?

Where are the people declaring that George Bush hates white, rural people?

How come in 2 weeks, you will never hear about the Iowa flooding ever again?

yep, real good questions, and you know what? i bet you wont get any sensible answers to them!
reading between the lines, you already know and understand the answers.
and i`ll go as far as to say if the help/handouts were offered i dont think many people in iowa would take up the offer because most of them would be used to helping themselves and their neighbours when trouble happens.

You'll hear about the Iowa flooding again. When food continues to rise because of Iowa flooding and the damaged crops in the state that grows the most corn. When the price of meat goes through the roof even more because of the ...

Well, to put it bluntly, the people in Iowa are white, the people in New Orleans are black. Both had plenty of time and warning to prepare, we have seen the outcome in both cases. You draw your own conclusions.

Well, for pretty much the same reason that you probably heard JACK about the area hardest hit by Katrina. Dead, X-ring center hit by Katrina. Mississippi. Not N'Awlins. Not the 9th Ward. Mississippi. But would you really expect Heraldo, Wolf, Sharpton, and Farakhan to work themselves into a frenzy over small towns and country folks in MISSISSIPPI? I mean, even tho you had steel hulled shrimp boats sitting in the street 3 miles from the ocean, well...., Ya see, Miss just does not have Bourbon Street, or Mardis Gras, or the Latin Quarter, it's just so...so.. so RURAL. You can't REALLY expect very SOPHISTICATED national reporters to go to places like THAT, now can you ? And yes, my tongue is firmly in my cheek. Have good friends that lived in Ocean Springs, Miss. While looters were setting fire to NO, folks in Miss were helping dig each other out of debris fields. No story there, just move along now.... [:(!]
