Since July 2........

I have dumped 21.5" of rain out of my rain gage. There is more in store for this weekend. Yesterday evening a storm dropped alittle over 2 inches in about 30 minutes. Probably the hardest rain I have ever seen. Wind and hail knocks a tree down, we had no power until about 1 a.m. Out of the first 26 weekends this year we have had rain in 24 of them. I have never seen anything like this. We had a pretty garden coming along, but now we are harvesting what hasn't went bad. Luckily I planted my corn alittle early this year, I have gotten around 200 ears of corn, with a few more to get this weekend. Hows the weather where you live??[:D]

Over 40 inches of rain for the year. So much that the garden was a wash. Still have peppers but the rest drowned. Don

Pretty bad July in my part of Pa. Hot humid and heavy thunder storms. I even had to pump water out of my basement. Usually July you get them pop up storms and they are gone in twenty minutes, not this year.

Usual fog in the morning 55 deg here on the central coast of CA. Go inland 10 miles and it's 90-100 deg. That's the norm in my area.

Minor thunder storms have been up a little from normal, the monsoonal moisture from Baja CA/Mexico has been making its way a tiny bit further north, but not unseen before.

Duckhuntr, is Nebraska still in a drought? I know some folks in the quarter horse business who have had a rough couple years because of it.

Sounds like its pretty wet there in Djibouti. We had a little rain in May, that's it, nothing since. So dry around here people are putting stamps on letters with safety pins

We started out good with a wet spring, plenty of rain. Now it's dried up, my yard is no longer green. I was having to mow every 5 days now I haven't had to mow in weeks. Pastures look bad and we may have to either buy hay or move the horses.

Lost probably 20 acres of soybeans to flooding, but my three plantings of sweet corn should get me 6-8000 ears.

Lots to give away, and some to go to waste, like usual.

    * will take a few hundred ears, but I'll take 12-15 * in retaliation.

Third year of drought for NM. We are having a decent monsoon so far, but it would take 15" of precip to catch us up.

Remember that the folks who predicted global warming said there would be some areas with drought, some with heavy rain, much more destructive tornados and hurricanes and higher temps overall.

    Good thing they were wrong.

Local area here in Piedmont NC just got hammered with up to 6 inches of rain in just under two hours...
    Several counties now flooded.

    There washes the neighborhoods.... [:0]

So much for less than six inches for the entire month...

About the same as you, we did it. Best garden I have ever grown. I mow when the sun shines, because I don't know when I'll get another chance.

Retrox, I heard Catawba county around Hickory(which is 60 miles east of us) got 12 inches Friday night. I saw some of the damage on the news, it was pretty bad. I hate it for those folks, but thankful it missed us. We couldn't stand that much as wet as we are.....

I wish CNN would get this right, it has been raining nearly everyday for almost 2 months. Some areas have exceeded 600% of their normal rainfall.

Here in western Nebraska we have had real spotty rains. some areas have had 10 inches or more this summer others only 4 or less. So no the drought is not over.
