For every dollar I spend on the lottery be it a scratch ticket or Lotto drawing I put the winnings and the same amount spent on the tickets in a savings account. Guess which account has the most money in it!!!!! Good luck to all who are playing!!!

I went down to the local gas station earlier this evening to get a Gatorade (after mowing the lawn) and the line was out the door for people waiting to buy lottery tickets.[V]

I hope you win but the odds of winning a Lottery are only slightly less than the chances of Larry Craig admitting to what all of us already know. Even with such slim odds I still drop a buck or two every time the pot gets really big (say $50+ million). A couple of years ago when the California Lottery got up into the $150+ million range one of my junior engineers developed a program using MATLAB (a powerful tool for engineering and mathematics) based on applied probability and the resulting numbers were supposed to be SURE WINNERS (right). For the heck of it a few of us at the office kicked in a dollar and our Whiz-Kid (now an associate engineer at my firm) bought Lotto tickets using variations of these MATLAB generated numbers and we all waited anxiously for our big payday. After everything was said and done we ended up with just what you would expect: NOTHING!
