Van Hapsburg is a descendant of the Hapsburg dynasty which ruled Romania for a period starting in the late 17th century. I think he is a US
citizen. Maybe we can get a tourist discount now?

The castle is worth seeing if you happen to find yourself in Romania. Mrs. K, myself and the girls were there in 2002 (sorry if we missed you zipper) and found the place interesting but it is highly unlikely that old Vlad ever set foot in Bran Castle. It was $2.50 US for the wife and I and $1.50 each for the girls with their student ID card (never leave home without it). Avoid the Hotel Bran which rates one-quater star on the Kristov scale. $20 for the four of us in a double room with two beds (which were too small for my taste since I'm 6'1" and 220 pounds), paper thin walls, a window which could not be closed by any mortal man (even with my doctorate in structural engineering) and hot water was never seen to flow into the shower despite numerous pledges, promises and swearing on the names of various saints that it would arrive soon!
