This will be connected to DARPA as the next in line to demonstrate for fielding operations with future innovations. Interesting developments that may even include The Space Fleet Command.

The Army believes Austin will provide the new command with the tools to be disruptive, innovative and break the entire service out of the archaic industrial age, allowing it to effectively focus on modernizing and preparing for future, more complex operations.

The reorganization will establish unity of command and effort by consolidating the modernization process under one roof, McCarthy said. The realignment of responsibilities is not additional force structure, but rather a streamlining of work, which will serve to overcome the bureaucratic inertia and stovepiping found in the Army?s current construct, he said.

And give several more Generals something to do not mention 100's of more Majors.

I wonder why they picked Austin TX. This kind of command could easily fit into either the Proving Ground or White Sands.

Better R&R in Austin for all those Majors. After all, this isn't regular military duty but The Silicon Valley for Egg heads and Specialized Engineers of all stripes to come to and wine and dine The Command center leaders after hours. UT is also right there for advise.

But in this case, they know their field of expertise.[;)]

When it comes to a singularity event with A.I. and I pray it never happens then it's all B.S. by then anyway.

And if you can't impress them with your intelligence then dazzle them with B.S. is what your looking for. It's all on the Occam's razor.

Austin makes sense for several reasons.

    1. The Army Medical Command is 90 miles south in San Antonio. Futures Command (if it comes to fruition will touch on medical innovation as well).

    2. Ft Hood and Ft Bliss are nearby for test purposes.

    3. Futures Command needs to not be on another commands installation; separate and alone on its own location.
