How's this for dedication

I had to schedule a flight physical today. The woman at the clinic asked if I wanted the 1130 or 1430 appointment. My work shift starts at 1430 so I picked the earlier one. Most people in the shop would've gone with the one that would've gotten them out of some work. Am I sick in the head for not taking a perfectly good chance to get out of work?

is this a small outfit you work for? are they good to you? do you have any loyalty to the company or are you passing through? is the company financially sound or are they barely making it? i am unable to frame a response with the info provided.

No, he works for a very large company and they have him on a limited contract that he can expand on at the end of his shift. you might have heard of the company, it is The United States Air Force.

Damn, I had a feeling it was something like that. Just don't tell my superiors that I love my job. Can't let them know that I enjoy what I do.

Think of it as sucking up and it won't look like you enjoy it so much.

Be careful some might consider this leading by example.[;)]

I hate leading by example. I prefer the hard edged, blunt approach. No beating around the bush, do what you have to do get the job done in a semi right to right manner.

DCC/ADCC? For our non-AF friends, what does the "D" stand for?

DCC is Dedicated Crew Chief, ADCC or just ACC is the Assistent Dedicated Crew Chief. We're the ones who own the jets. THey're not the pilots, we just let them fly them.

You keep this up and someone will nominate you for maggot of the quarter!![:D] Don't even tell me you started trying to keep a shine on your boots!!

Wait until next year, hopefully you'll get your CJR and all will be well for another term. Then you can hit the books hard for WAPS testing.

Too late, I already got "maggot" of the quarter for Squadron and Group, plus I was nominated for wing. As of now, my career field doesn't need a CJR to reup. If I would've gotten BTZ, I'd be testing for Staff in January or February. I'll be testing the beginning of 2009 for Staff since I don't sew SrA on until June '08.
