My 2006 Taurus is going to be paid off within the next 4 months. I know, it never should've taken that long but too late now. I'm thinking now that I have a dependable transport I want a fun car. I'll definetly be paying cash for it. I'm thinking of a MkIII or MKIV VW Golf GTi with the 2.8 VR6. A buddy of mine has what's basically a Jetta GLi with that engine and it's a fun, solid car. Also, with the Golf, a hatch is a handy practical car.

The MINI S model is a Blast
That sounds like something that would come with a big obama sticker on back....[:D]
WRX?
If you're going to go WRX, you might as well go STi right off the bat. I have a buddy who turned his WRX INTO an STi...for around $40,000 worth of parts, and about 18 months worth of time. He did it all himself, too.

New WRX is damn near what the Sti is.... But I agree. Sti is sick!
This is what I'm leaning towards.
What about a Mazdaspeed 3?
