I think I would have quit my job that day. At least long enough to go clean myself up.
Patterson Drilling, Abilene, TX yard was doing some cleanup around the yard. The forklift driver picked up a "pit" (10 ft by 10 ft by 30 ft), set it back down and called the office. "I need some people out here with shotguns". Three men showed up. As many got away as was killed----62.

Probably would of went on their own after being uncovered.
But, what fun would that be? Hey, can I put my boot order in now?
Yes, they are venomous, but they don't slither about looking for a human to bite. They are really rather pitiful creatures. They have no hands, no feet, they move very slowly, and their only defense mechanism is biting. They would rather be left alone to eat rodents and make baby snakes. VERY FEW people who are bitten, get bitten while minding their own business. Most bites occur when someone is trying to catch or kill the snake. You know what? If you corner, threaten, or step on just about any kind of animal, it will fight back any way it can.
Someone uncovered a den, that's all. Snakes den up in winter, and a good den will attract a number of snakes. If left to their own devices, they would have moved along.
-Just kidding![}:)]
Them snakes would of never bit me.. cause they would of been feet deep in shi*.

Oh, for cryin' out loud! They're snakes! Not invisible, flying, fire-breathing, poison-gas belching, dragons, just snakes!

I agree with you David but I got say that if it was me that had found It would have scared the holy crap out of me [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D] i did learn that the din was in the const. yard and they were cleaning up around the place seems to me they need to keep it a little more clean [:0][:D][:D][:D]

At least "some" of them got away. [:D]
What......no report on dozens of people dead from snake bite?
Since they felt the need to kill them, did anyone skin, eat, or otherwise use them?
Or did they just cut the rattles off, leave the bodies out in the sun to rot, and declare themselves macho men?
