Glad they found it before something really bad happened.

Me too [B)], they did find 2 other clots in my leg one we knew about and had been watching close but the other was deeper and could not be seen and they think thats the one that broke loose.

just goes to show it does not pay to be hard headed like I was and not go to the doctor until now.

I feel for you. I went to the emergency room last month with stomach pain and after a CT scan and a colonoscopy they discovered a blood clot that caused gangrene in my large intestine which required removing approx. one foot of my large intestine. That resulted in a 3 week stay in the hospital the first time and two additional stays by the first of October. I'm now on blood thinner for the rest of my life.

You are both very lucky you were diagnosed in time. Nothing hurts quite like a blood clot, it's a constant ache that can't be relieved. I had a popliteal aneurysm seventeen years ago. I was trying to be a tough guy and almost lost my leg. They bypassed the busted artery with the same vein they take for heart surgery. A hundred and forty four stitches and staples later I still have my foot. It still hurts every day, but it's there.

It affects how long I can walk. I have got to where I can make about twenty minutes in WalMart, but for some reason I can make all day at a gun show. A man has to have his priorities.[:)]

Anyone that feels that deep constant ache, get checked now, don't try to be a hero.

at 44 it was a shock but then again I should have paid better attention after my run in with a 500 lb steer calf that worked my right leg over good causing a blood clot in the superficial vein.
well turns out I had to more in my leg deeper and they think one of those broke loose and ended up in my lung.

I consider myself to be very lucky to still be here and now I have to
be a big burden on my friends and family for the next 6 months do to my own stubbornness.
