I don't have a chainsaw but I have several other Ryobi tools that I have used for years with no problems. Ryobi made a lot of Sears Craftsman power tools. Not at all bad for the price.

My Ryobi weedwakker though same displacement as other brands, has the most horsepower of them all. Pretty Good gear.

I've got a ryobi spinning reel that I've used for trout since 1979. Its a good reel and held up well. To me its better than most of the new ones. I don't suppose this helps much concerning chainsaws

Have their 10" miter saw. Paid less than $50 for it a few years ago. Works great. Made a two section chicken coop 4 meters x 1 with Guadua and Chanu framing, cedar trim. Chanu is something like walnut. Dense and heavy. No problem for the saw. Saw sitting in front with my HPLV sprayer.

After the last POTUS election my long time yard maintenance technician Sabiro disappeared never to be seen again.

So I decided to do all my own yard maintenance. Had to go out and buy all the tools to do the work. Googled best yard tools and Ryobi got the best reviews.

The chain saw will be next to be included in my Ryobi family. I opted for the 40v battery version and have yet to drain the bat to 50%.

My son has Ryobi chainsaw, and he says it's just OK, hey sis it's way under powered, But might be good on a soft wood like pine. If you using it for trimming, Harbor freight sells the electric pole chainsaws for about $80. They're running a 25% off coupon sale this weekend, that would probably be your best bet. I bought one last year and it surprised the heck out of me how much work it's done, and how fast it cuts through limbs, even cherry. It has a 9 inch blade, so I can cut through about 14-15 inch limb if i cut from both sides. I would have to measure it, but I think it has a 8 or 10 foot adjustable extension pole. at it's shortest length All the way in. With the handle on the ground to where the chain starts its stands about 4-5 feet long. The only drawback is that you do have to use an extension cord. But they do also have a battery powered one too, but I know it's more money, how much I don't know. But you can check the website to find out

Here's a demonstration and review of it on YouTube

Those older Poulan 4000 are great saws I have one left with a 24" bar and a skip chain. The last couple of years I have sold three on Ebay.

Did I do ok in the stihl???

Price - investment - quality - size for hobbyist use???

I know it's not the king of chainsaw and it's small but is it man card approved???

    Mike

I think any chainsaw is man card rated, Mike.

,I have 4 saws, but the one I use the most is a Homelite XL2 that my grandmother bought back in the early 70s. It only has a 12" bar, but it cuts like the Begeezuz.
