going to pick one up this afternoon. think I done good 250.00

Well I got it home now and it was in pretty good shape a couple small spots that needs cleaning but in all for the money its a heck of a deal. It's ser# has a F at the end and from checking that means its a first run and was made between 1966-67 if I understand right.

It may shoot well, but that's about it,

Buffalo Scout guns are in the 100 range.

You did great at that price, I've got the Colt 1968 Frontier Scout "K" series in Nickle with Walnut grips and it's hard to enjoy for fear of scratching it, but I do shoot it. I'd rather have yours to really enjoy shooting and carrying, I'm full of envy [;)].

It will kill just as [xx(] as any other SAA. I judge firearms on performance. That pistol he is looking at is worth more than 100 dollars. Geesh..

..Not to change the subject, but when were those "Buffalo Scouts" imported? I think that's what I had about 1973-74. It was a lead spitting, misaligned, loose fitting hunk of junk.

You can geesh all you want,,I KNOW it's a COLT,,check statement AGAIN before you spout off,,,and your FIE is that, an FIE and no, it's NOT a Colt SAA. Your performance would be a lead splitting earache with that.

..Mine had some sort of "gold" looking finish. Slivers of lead would
catch me in the knuckles and the cylinder gap was wide enough to see
the scenery through. It was my first handgun and my Pops had a fit,
saying I'd shoot my toes off. Think I got about $30 for it in trade.
That's more than it was worth in my mind.

have cured some of the import revolvers by resetting the barrel to 0.003-4" gap and making it an economical priced shooter

..That would have helped if the timing and lockup were better but it wasn't worth the expense. (in my case)

..I was in my late teens and had no skills nor tools other than a torch, welder and grinder with 12" wheels for sharpening plow shares!

I guess I got lucky with my FIE Buffalo Scout. I bought it new in 1981 when I was trapping. I wanted a cheap 22 I could easily carry and not cry if I dropped it in the river or lost it along my trap line. I paid $56 dollars for it brand new at a Walmart in ETX. It also came with 22 mag cylinder. Shooting mags it wasn't accurate, but 22lr it was extremely accurate. I have shot thousands or rounds through it and it continues to shoot well today. It's been beat around, banged around and carried in the glove box for 11 years in STX. Never a malfunction or other problem. Best $56 Gun I ever bought.....

Kasey just sold mine, exactly like that, dual cylinder, box, paper work.

A few months ago. I think it went north of $600 if I remember correctly.

Edit: was late fall, bought the Henry mini bolt, and the cricket for the Christmas give away with the spoils.
