You can usually buy an old laptop for next to nothing. Pull the harddrive and buy a case off ebay for about $6. Using a USB cable you can download all your important files to this harddrive easily. If your harddrive dies, you still have your important files.
As I am typing this I am downloading all my pics, documents, music and gunsafe to two seperate laptop harddrives. Then they will go in the fire resistant gunsafes.
