I've mostly shot Rugers, Smiths, and More Rugers as far as handguns go, but I've been wanting a 1911 for a long time but never wanted to do alot to it. I've been selling a few things (collectible pocket knives) and about have enough to buy a Kimber Stainless Custom Target II. Now, I've been seeing a few bad expeerience on some of the posts, now I ain't so sure. I shot a friend's Gold Match and I thought it was sweet. Tell me something.

It is not a bad gun. In fact the quality can be used as an example for many others. I don't care for the II series (it is a personal thing) so I won't buy one but it is still a top quality 1911 style and you should have many years of pleasure out of it.

I heard a lot about Kimbers before purchasing 2 Custom II's (.45 & .38super). I'll say that I'm a little disappointed in the fit/feel of the guns. They both feel a little loose to me. I hear a trip to the Kimber Custom shop will take care of it, but again, I heard so many good things about them and I'm not overly impressed. They are both good shooters and the .38super is very accurate. I will not buy another Kimber, but I will not sell the ones I have either. The Gold Match is a more expensive model, so I'd expect it to be better than the custom II.
