Any body know what the first hand held firearm was, where it was made, when it was made, and the name?????????

    Your on the right Track SAXON PIG, it was a small hand held cannon, ignited by a wick, held to the chest with one hand and lit with the other, invented in the very early 1400,s by an Englishman, It had a well deserved name (HAND GONNE )

    The hand gonne was first, the arquebus was around 1500
