What do you think about this immigration initiative?

I turned it off as soon as he came on, I dont hold any hope of him actually saying anything worth hearing anymore.
I watched, and it just appeared to be a smoke screen, talk out of both sides of your mouth thing. Order those learn spanish tapes NOW!!!!!
Bush is a joke!!!
But, he said the path is going to be costly, lengthy, and most importantly isn't a sure thing (At which point, what happens? Deportation?), which is going to leave all the illegals and their sympathizers pissed.
Not a shining moment for him.
The whole charade makes/made me SICK! "Buy Your Amnesty Here!", IS ONE OF THE THINGS HE SHOULDA BEEN SHOUTING! 6k troops, deployed to "support" roles?! PLEASE!!! What he did was give the equivalent of a "last call", it'll be 2YRS before anything comes of the "stepped-up presence" at the border!!! Why does he insist that "deportation through attrition" NO jobs=they leave) is not viable? I'm totally disappointed by our President! If this were important enough to him, he would find a way, THE WILL, to push through the NECESSARY measures, funding, etc. I'm sorry if I'm rambling, but I'm sooooooooooooo pi$$ed right now..........
I sort of got that drift....
I'd bet he would have us shot on sight.
Bush said he met a wounded Gunnery Sergeant at Bethesda who told Bush he came to America as a little child, worked the fields, and joined the Marines as soon as he could--and that he would like to obtain his citizenship! As far as I know, service in our military forces puts you to the head of the line. I wait to be corrected if I'm mistaken. Or did I misunderstand Bush's point?

I figured it would be something along those lines.
My wife and I went to see David Copperfield just last Thursday! What a terrific show. How did he do those things? Living proof it is hard to underestimate the power of smoke, mirrors, and mass hypnosis....I guess the question is, which side of the mirrors and smoke are you looking in?
We seen him in Vegas a few years back. He came up to our table and did a slide of hand with some cards. I was asked to stand up while he did it. He is a cool guy. After the trick he ask me if I was ok... I responded YEP.. Now I am going to make a drink disappear.. He laughed..
Some seem to be concerned that he is talking about AMNESTY ... they didn't listen very well.
I heard what he said last night ... sound pretty good to me.

X-ring
I wonder how he would deal with a mass immigration of peed off voters onto his Texas Farm?
I'd bet he would have us shot on sight.
Led by Cindy Sheehan?
When I compair the current administration with the Clinton era, I find myself wondering how Bill would have handled the challenges "W" faces. Better, worse? I don't know. But I do know that we, as a nation, are in trouble.
First off, we know how Bill would have "handled things" ... he pays them lip service then ignores them! Where Was the retaliation when the WTC was bombed the first time? What about the USS Cole? What about the US Citizens that were kidnapped and the Embassies that were bombed during his administration?
Its strange how politicians have been ignoring the boarder problems for generations ... and now it's all GW's fault we have a problem.
One thing is sure, we took a long time to get where we are, there isn't going to be a quick fix.
? otherwise, you'll find an excuse.
EVEN if we had the cojones to do something....

How does 6000 National Guard troops doing TEMPORARY duty on the border sound "pretty good" to you? They won't even be doing armed patrols, they will be serving in a support capacity to the Border Patrol. This is nothing more than lip service, plain and simple. Is that why you voted for Bush, so he could deploy a paltry 6000 temporary soldiers to the border to do vehicle maintenance and paperwork? You must have had VERY low expectations when you voted for him. He didn't have to say "amnesty", purposely not enforcing the immigration laws is de facto amnesty.

Yeah ... what he said!
You should have voted for GORE and we woldn't be in this mess

The Republicans in congress have done some concrete things in regard to protecting legal gun ownership and rights of self defense, too. I get mad as hell when things are so obviously pro-rich and against working people and personal freedom, that I go a little overboard cussing them out sometimes.
So, when they get things right, I've gotta chime in and admit it.
Following through with action that really secures the border, though, is an absolute necessity, in my book!
Indicates that SOME of the bush W horeshipers have at least an I.Q. of 35 points or so....
Even Bush Bimbo Laura Imgram FINALLY got a wad she couldn't swallow...200 Million more barbarians within the next 20 years...Course, tomorrow she will be back with the kneepads.
Tomorrow, get in your car and drive around and LOOK....try and store memories of what you see. Perhaps those memories will keep you warm as you learm Spanish..as you become secondary citizens of your own country..as illegals gain more rights then you...Sleep well, knowing that you supported the misleaders that destroyed America...
And I voted for him!!!![}:)]
I'm not fed up with him because I never expected anything from him in the beginning and so I haven't been disappointed.
