Can anyone tell me what they think of this. What are the pros and cons of a Yogo or Romanian style of the AK or the SKS? I am not planning to shoot anything particlar, just looking for something with an inexpensive round that is semi-auto and a large clip.

To me this YOGO is an "economically priced" rifle. O.K. to be honest, it's cheap. But, it is semi-auto. The rounds are economically priced, but you cannot just go to WAL-MART to buy rounds.

Do they rust easy?
Are they mechanical nightmares?
A disposable rifle?
Inaccurate?
Varmint rifle?

Can anyone give me a bit of an education?

yes, I have a yugo sks that i bought on that site, except they are packed in cosmoline and you have to clean very good(take them apart etc.); it works pretty well.

Oh and those are good AK's, I think you should buy one, but I am also considered the * of this site.

I had a great time at the range today. My yugo sks made the day.My son inlaw bought a new .357 mag wheel gun, an wanted to sight his pistol in.I let my son inlaw shoot my single six to get used to firing a wheel gun. Then I let him shot my .40 cal xd.By the time he got around to shooting his pistol he had a good idea on how to shoot his pistol. But when I let him shoot my sks at the dong which is 220 yards out , he was ready to go buy any sks that he could get his hands on.Sks or ak these rifles are just fun to shoot. For plinking you can't go wrong with a sks or aka.

These rifles were designed for ignorant peasants use..reliable, rugged, and trouble free. The trade=off is accuracy..and they are remarkably accurate, given all the above.

A friend of mine bought a half-dozen of these playtoys about a dozen years ago...40 bucks a pop...and tried to destroy some of them. Loading and firing as rapidly as possible...he hosed them down when they got too hot. Shaking the water off, he would go back to firing. One of them finally broke after several thousand rounds..I dis-remember what exactly....but those little guns just kept on firing...

Biggest downer with Yugo is as far as I know none (AK or SKS) of them have chromed barrels so expect rough bores on used ones. The Romanians have chrome bores. I own several of each & they all seem to shoot about the same.
