Upside down flag flying..

EndlssEndlss Member Posts: 1,068 ✭✭✭✭
edited May 2006 in General Discussion
Just drove one of the kids friends home and noticed a "messican" family the next road over has a flag flying upside down.[:(!]

Funny, they just moved in and I know the previous owner never had it that way. The past owner told another neighbor that a landscaping company bought the house. I guess these guys work for the company.

Since they are disrespecting my flag wouldn't it be just for me to direspect their ownership of said flag.[}:)]

I think they need help.[:0]

The word of the day is "clandestine" boys and girls.. say it with me[:D]
Why ?, because they have more rights to direspect our country than I have to respect it.[:(]

Dear God, Who art in Heaven, Please watch over Endlss tonight as he will proballly spend the night with the po-po.

ps.
Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury I respectfully decline to answer, these questions and allegations brought forth today, on the grounds that I may incriminate myself.

I'm with you on this one. IF I had a neighbor flying our flag upside down I'd have to act on it. Good luck and may the clouds be out and the moon dark.

If I saw such a disgraceful display of the flag i would pull off the road, go straight to the door and beat on it until someone answered. I'd tell them what they were doing wrong and suggest that they fix the flag before I fix if for them.

Endlss, don't take the law into your own hands.
Call the cops, show them a copy of Maryland's flag laws and demand that they enforce it. Wouldn't want to see you get into legal troubles.

I saw the same offense once when I was living in Richmond. My solution? I walked up to the flagpole, took the flag down while handling it with due respect and proper procedure as I was taught, turned it the proper way, ran it back up the pole and walked away.

Did they do it again? Once. Sooooooo, I did it again, same as before.

Guess what, those pinko commies never did it again that I know of. I moved a few years later, but EVERY day I drove by there and after that never ONCE did those pinko's try that nonsense again.

Actually, I have no idea if they were commies or not. Their national persuation is of no consequence to me. My dad drilled it into my head as a very small child that only pinko's are capable of that kind of sacrilege, so to this day the word is stuck in my brain. Besides, what does it matter? Regardless, they were dissin' our flag and I just thought they needed to see that not only do real americans notice, but they dam well DO something about it too!

I think an upside down flag is also an international symbol of distress. could be a family of messicans is being held captive by a mean gringo overlord.

Well I have to tell you something, I know a few good men that have died for this country. You have totally lost my respect by doing such an act.

Freedom is going away every day, here in America..I hope you can find a bit of indignation for THAT..along with people disrespecting the Flag....

Myself..I find myself FAR more indignant over 'leaders' disrespecting the CONSTITUTION..then individuals flying the flag wrong...

Takes a lot of courage to cry 'Foul' at 'Leaders', however...

Well, what is the message they are trying to convey with the upside down flag?
Is it to disrespect the nation, or to voice the fact they think it is in dire distress..
Clearly the students that raised the mexican flag about the upside down american flag were doing so in a disrespectful manner.
You can see some pictures of a mexican(by descent) draped with an american flag being yelled at and harrassed by other mexicans flying mexican flags. Not all mexicans are in favor of illegal immigration, some tried really hard to get here legally(or their family has been here since before 1850, and they are true natives), and are upset at the total lack of consequences towards the illegals. Granted those people are in a very small minority.
I would ascertain why they are flying their flag uside down and what message they are trying to convey before taking any direct action.

As to those students with the american flag upside down below the mexican one, I still firmly beleive they should be tried as traitors and face a military firing squad.

It is also in the laws dealing with the treatment of the flag that no flag will be flown over or higher than the U.S. flag within our boarders. That is why state flags and such are always below or on a shorter pole next to the Stars and Stripes. I am sure my wording of the laws pertaining to this are not exact but it can be looked up as to the proper displaying of the flag

I too thought it was a sign of distress (I recall an episode of Black Sheep Squadron their base was over taken by the Japanese) in this case over taken by illegals. Now if they were flying the flag back wards (with the field of blue on the tail end) then I might see "disrespecting" the flag is in order. Try that with a Japanese flag it wouldn't make a bit of difference.

Flying the flag upside down is not disrespecting America in my opinion. It means someone is using their freedom of speech to show they think the country is in distress. In the old days of shipping ships at sea would invert their flag if they were in distress...Which is where this comes from.

    Public Law 829 (77th Congress) Sec. 4(a) :
"The flag should never be displayed with the union down
SAVE AS A SIGNAL OF DIRE DISTRESS"

Apparently it is fully legal to do so also.

If inverting every American flag on the planet is what it takes to wake up the sheeple....then so be it.

Jews For The Preservation of Firearms Ownership supports it:

    http://www.jpfo.org/alert20020628.htm

    Then so do I.

Actually after thinking about it: What needs to be found out is why they are flying it like that. If these "messicans" are immigrants (legal or illegal) and they are making the statement of the immigration thing then they do not have the right to display it like that. My money lies on that they are illegals makeing a statement about wanting amnesty. In which case I'd get really PO'd.

Hold it a second here, most of you are way off base.

    1. Flying the flag upside down is a sign of dire distress (this has been stated alread).

    2. Saying that, call the cops and report that there is something terribly wrong at that house, and that the people inside have been calling for help. You're not lying, you're telling the 100% truth.

Let the LEOs take it from there.

I saw that episode of Black Sheep. I couldn't believe that Sulu from Star Trek was really a Japanese officer! In his autobiography, Sulu claimed he was a loyal American held prisoner by Franklin Roosevelt in a detention camp in Colorado during WWII.

In the show, the Black Sheep hung the Marine Corps. flag upside down, which is an international symbol that warns the Navy guys to stay away from the showers until the party is over.

These people probably dont know that flying the flag upside down is a sign of distress - i'd wager most Americans dont know it either.

Its more likely that they're just plain disrespecting the flag. Kind of like turning the cross upside down.

They are flying the flag upside down because.

1, They are legal Messicans that want to signal that their country that they love in in trouble.

2, They are illegal Messicans that are insulting our Flag.

3, They are dumb Messicans legal or illegal and don't realize they are flying the Flag upside down. (Messicans can't do anything right, they even have to refry their beans.)

THE AUTHORITIES DO NEED TO BE INFORMED.

An illegal immigrant flying the Flag upside down with impunity is a hate crime.

    I find this one funny:

    P_331149_1187130.JPG

The US Army has had an inverted flag of its own for some time. Federal law says the blue piece should be on the left at all times.

It's an inverted flag...showing the country is in distress under Public Law 829.

He's an actor more than anything else, so he's going to take roles that are offered to him.

The detention camp in Colorado is just east of Aurora by the Buckley Air National Guard base (I think it has since been renamed the Buckley Air Force base). I've driven by the camp a few times.

Actually, I think that is called Stars forward position. If the Stars could only be on the left as you say, the Stars on a flag in the wind have to be able to move so they could always stay on the left. What you have a picture of is NOT an inverted flag.

Reason for the stars on the right when worn on the left shoulder is to signify the flag blowing in the direction of the wind. Same reason it is that way on aircraft or vehicles. When you fly your flag, walk around to the flags left side and see wich way its facing....[:0]

Flying the flag upside down is a distress signal. You need to notify the local police that someone is signaling distress by flying the flag upside down. Have each of you neighbors take turns doing the same thing. When 911 gets tired of the calls, they will dispatch an officer to explain what it means and order them to stop, but they can't if they are not getting calls on it. It has to be a nescience to the police first.
