I have seven shotguns in my safe but I do not have a full camo turkey gun. I am swinging towards either a Charles Daly or a Mossberg, I do not want a three and 1/2 just a 3 will do fine and I think I would prefer the pump. What do you guys prefer? Thanks Pa.

Charles Daily makes good guns but I like my Mossberg Mod 835 3 1/2 in Magnum.I did have some ejection problems with it with 2 3/4 and 3 in shells I hope its fixed. But it comes with 5 chokes two Turkey chokes. But I suggest you buy a recoil pad, with full or Turkey chokes and 3 1/2 in shells it will tear your shoulder off.

    Best!!

Do not have a Daly, but have a Mossberg 500, and I use it for everything from grouse to deer. I think the ailment that Rugster described is common with Mossberg. Had the same problem, sent it to Mossberg, and it has not been a problem since.
Speaking from my own experiences, I think the 3 inch shell capacity in the 500 is more than enough. Matter of fact, I do not shoot 3s at all through my mossberg. The 2 3/4 work the best, and I have never felt the need for a gun with a larger shell capacity. I have gotten a few turkeys with my Mossberg, with 2 3/4 #5 turkey loads.
I know nothing about the 835-it might be a lot better than the 500. But the 500 works great for me.

greetings, i have two moss 500a's in cammo both with vented rib barrels and accuchoke adjusters. both shoot well but must be kept clean. both in woodlands style, but one a 3" has athree color pattern with a 24" bbl, the other is a 3 1/2" witha five color patern with a 28" bbl. i agree with rugster that they kick but they also produce a consistent pattern. they don't look as good as a daley but they don't cost as much either. respt submitted dads-freehold

I have to agree with my friend Sal on this one. I have a Mossberg 500 chambered for 3" rounds. Loaded with 3" magnum shells, there,s nothing you can't kill with it including your shooting shoulder.

I can suggest 2 guns. They are both good so it boils down to your personal preferance.(1)Winchester 1300 Turkey.(2)Franchi Variopress(semi-auto).Of the 2 my favorite is the Winchester 1300 but the Franchi is a great shotgun and has the best camo pattern I have ever seen on any gun and the best looks. The 1300 is great for Turkey though.

I have (2) 835 Ultra-mags and enjoy both, one is scoped and one is not..3inch shells is plenty..but I also have, and mostly use a Remingtion 11-87 super-mag..quite the gun..as for buying the Browning..save about 165.00 and buy the Winchester Super X-2..same gun, made in the same factory..by the same people..and is also a fine choice...Haven't tried the Daly but have read fine reports on it also..What ever fits ur budget and needs..

Mossberg! It will probably last longer and if anything breaks you'll
have a better chance of getting replacement parts. Too many gun companies are producing here today/gone tomorrow models. Stick with
guns that have been around a while (and should still be here tomorrow)!!!
