If you will be hoisting a flag in respect to our fallen servicemen for Memorial Day, don't forget to raise it to the top of the flagpole and then down to half mast.
When you are lowering it, remember to raise it back up to the top of the flagpole before bringing it on down.
Just in case you might have forgotten. [:)]

Flag only flies at half mast untill noon. At noon you raise it to full mast.
Don't mean to take over your post hairy but just thought proper protical was in order.[:D]
I have one of those flags you hang on the side of the house. I put it up this morning and will remove it before dark, there is no half mast. I hope this is expectable also.
That is ok. some of them have a 2 position holder in which case you use the lowest untill noon and then go to the highest

I believe you can leave it out as long as you have a light shining on it.quote:Originally posted by Wild Okie

That also is correct. I leave mine out at all times. I do have a street light that lights it up very well.
I mainly leave it up due to us having troops in harms way. I know this was done at the time I was in the gulf so I only feel that it fits that I do it for those their now. After they come home I'll probly go back to just the normal holidays. I do anything possible to honor our troops and understand what they face as they are there.
