In 1903 there were about 2,800 accidental firearm fatalities, 1923 around 3200, 1943 around 2300, 1963 around 2200, l983 around 1800, 1999 around 750, 2000 about 750. A steady decline .

Accidental firearms deaths have been reduced to less than 1% of all accidental deaths in this nation.

The "Gun Safety" problem is widely publicized criminal shootings whcih have been lumped together with suicides and accidents to gave a dramatically distorted picture of the "Gun Safety Problem"

The fact is the suicides and homocides account for 98% of firearms deaths and accidents account for only 2% of all firearms deaths..
