Can you shoot a .380acp in a 9X18 Makarov, a guy told me they were the same but I dont believe he is right. I found a CZ Makarov I would like to have but if you have to buy different shells for the Makarov, are they expensive or hard to find? I just want a cheap gun I can lock up and leave in my truck.

Nope cant shoot 380ACP in a mak

Mak ammo is no more expensive then .380ACP. It shoots alittle harder.

.380 shoots a 95 grain bullet at around 930fps from a 3.5" barrel 9mm mak shoots the same bullet weight at 1000+fps from the same length BDL.

The 9mm makarov shoots .365", which comes out to 9.271mm. The 380 acp shoots a true 9mm bullet or .3543"

The ammunition is easier to find right now in comparison to 380 auto and a hell of a lot cheaper. Before all this madness, the 9x18 ammo was more expensive then 9mm luger and probably about the same price as 380 auto.

Hornaday makes a great hollow point round for the 9X18 Makarov.
