Greensburg

I was watching Greensburg on TV last night. It struck me how the TV program isn't really makeing the city administrators look very good. Apparently nobody likes being told they must build green. One couple was talked into selling their downtown lot that used to house their Hair Salon so the city could build a super green "Small Business incubator". The couple were later told they could not open a Salon in the new building because of the smell it would create.

anyway...

I also noticed that when one family moved out of a Fema trailer to their new home, they thoroughly cleaned the Fema trailer. It looked spotless when they left!

Didn't I read how many of the New Orleans Fema trailers had to be scrapped because of the filth left in them?

Immagine that![;)]

I know many of the people of Greensburg and some are very good friends, cleaning the trailers when they moved out does not surprise me at all. I live about 30 miles away and would have always been proud to say Greensburg was my hometown, the town of Greensburg is/was a top quality town. It is hard to imagine the emotions caused by an entire town being destroyed, feeling, opinions, and tempers were bound to surface. If the national sympathy for this town wasn't so high, I wonder if DiCaprio would have been interested in the documentary, might not have been as big a feather for his cap.

I too know many people from Greensburg and am not surprised. They are mostly farm people or oil field trash. I even have relatives from there. Hell, I used to even get drunk in Greensburg. Course I have gotten drunk almost everywhere. Don

Done some work in that area about 10 years ago and most people that I met would give you the shirt off their back.I'm betting that most of those trailers are coming back in better shape then when they got them. I'm hoping that in about 10 years of returning to the Mid-west. Getting to much trash moving in here.
