Put 20 rounds through my new Taurus Raging Bull earlier today. It was much more pleasant to shoot then I was anticipating. Granted the ported barrel helps some I am sure as well as the fact that I started myself off using a lighter factory load. I was also impressed with how well it shot. I am going to fine tune it next weekend, but I fired it freehand at 25 yards and put the last cylinder full in a neat little 3" group. To all of you who are afraid to shoot or make the plunge on a hand cannon, I would highly recommend giving the Taurus Raging Bull a look. The ported barrel, cushion grips, etc. make this a very shooter friendly revolver. And to think I believed you weenies who said that the .454 was too much gun[:D] I have some Buffalo Bore 360 Grainers on order for when I head up to Alaska. Now them might be a little less pleasant to shoot.[:0][}:)]

[:D]I'm not gonna lie. I will probably be a little tense when I fire the first one.

I can still remember back in the late 50s when all the gun magazines were printing articles about how BAD the .44 magnum was. It was called the .44 eargesplitenloudenboomer & there were tales of people splitting the webs of their hands from the recoil.
Why should gun magazine hype have changed in 50 years? ;-)
But seriously, its not totally crazy. At the time .44 magnum was the highest recoiling pistol, and by most casual shooter's standards recoil can be pretty harsh depending on the load and gun in question.
Since the 1950s, there has been 50 years more experience in designing ports, balancing guns better, and especially having more ergonomic and shock-absorbing grips made.
The worst thing is when the grips don't fit the shooters hand well or have sharp checkering, and good grips really do make all the difference in the world there.
+1, they are very nice grips.

Sounds like you might be ready to step up to a real man's gun...like my 2.75" non-ported .460 S&W.[;)][:)]
