Is the new USMC camoflauge pattern (woodland, dessert, or urban) available to the general public. If so, where?

Hell, it ain't available to most of us Marines yet. Expect surplus to hit the market in about a year. If someone has a source already, please let me know. We don't have to iron them things like we do these woodlands.

Are you talking about the new block style (I don't know what its called)?

If so, I saw some at a flea market about three weeks ago.

If it was at a flea market you saw some that a sgt. who just got out was selling, because for the most part, sgts. are the only ones with them. I too would like to get them, but have to wait till about October. The only real ones are the ones with the eagle globe and anchor incorporated into the camo. design. If its not there, its not genuine. Also, the eagle globe and anchor are upside down on some of the camies too, that will be corrected sometime in the future. I wouldnt expect to see it commonly available to the public for about a year as will270 stated.

I'm pretty sure it was manufactured for the civilian market because they had 'em in those stupid looking 'urban colors' like pink and gray, blue and gray, etc. They also had woodland.

It was definetly the 'block style' where the pattern is composed of small blocks. What is it called, anyway?

It's woodland that has been digitized.

I may be mistaken, and it may be a different material than what Im thinking altogether, but many moons ago while I was stationed in Korea I purchased a pair of woodland cammies at the comisary. They had a 1/4" square pattern throughout the material that was similar to fishing string. I was told that the fiber in the pattern helped reduce your heat signature so it would be harder for the enemy to see you with night vision devices. Weather this was true or not, I have know idea, as I never researched the subject.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....
