Was in the local Walmart getting some groc items and because of the season it was busy, very busy...

Went to the line (shortest one) and waited....while I wait I usually do ppl watching (fun little pasttime) and noticed the carts ahead of me...One was right full, big boxed gifts for kids (big plastic toys, you know the kind) 2 bikes with training wheels so you know the kids were small and bunch of small stuff..

They were taking what seemed to be a long time at the checkout but eventually were done and the line moved...When it was my turn I told the cashier "I sure wouldnt want to be some ppl in Jan when they get their credit card statements"...She laughed and then said the couple that took so long in line used 6 credit cards to pay for their purchase and that is what took the time...She said it was like 100 on one, 50 on another, 20 on one etc, and you know all the cards are maxed out when they do that...She also said something that kinda stunned me, "most of the ppl are shopping that way now, using 3 or more cards to pay."

Living beyond their means comes to mind...

When I was a kid, my pop was a food broker for the Coca-Cola Company among others. Coke owned Minute Maid frozen OJ (and other flavors) concentrate found in the frozen food aisle. It was real popular, Bing Crosby pitched it on TV.

Today I went to Walmart, Greers (regional upper class market similar to Winn Dixie) and neither had frozen OJ. Then I went to Piggly Wiggly and they had TWO CANS! 12 oz can that makes 48 ozs of OJ. $1.69 per can.

The manager told me they dropped it for no demand. I bought the last two cans of frozen OJ to be sold in Bay Minette. The cheapest MADE FROM CONCENTRATE bottle of OJ in the cooler I saw was $3.09.

I like to make it because I get on a kick and drink it all day. Other days a bottle of juice will spoil before I get around to it.

They still have a new version of Ovaltine and Kool-Aid, but I fear these too will soon pass into History Americana.

    A pity really.

I do searches on a regular basis for two pistols. Usually there are 3 or 4 listed. Today there are over a dozen of each. Also noted a huge price difference like some just want to get thier money while they can. Buyer's market.....
