The magazine I won was waiting for me when I got home today... finally... Thanks to all for your support and suggestions...I must admit, GB is a lot better than ebay... at least GB provides names and numbers... Thanks again...

I had the winning bid on an auction on this site... MY FIRST!! *LOL.. now comes the problem... I have waited for the guy to email me with shipping etc... and NOTHING... I tried to email him.. and it was returned saying message was undeliverable... so now what?????.. How can I get in touch with this guy as he doesnt see fit to email me with information on where to send the money... Every message I have sent this person is returned as undeliverable... Any advice?

Don't know for sure but doesn't Admin or somebody at GunBroker have a phone number where the seller can be reached in situations as this. Would definitely report to Admin if you can not contact within five days. If nothing else at least they can keep this individual from listing any more auctions.

I would contact the auction site and tell them your problem. Second, did the seller have a few feedbacks?

BlackRoses...forgot to mention that some sellers have jobs like fire departments, etc and it sometimes takes a few days for them to get back to you if they are on duty. Another thing I have found is that if they are Gunshop owners, at times especially weekends, they attend local Gunshows and it takes a few days for them to get back to you.

    airborne..
I dont mind that it takes a few days to get back to me.. what is bugging my a** is that the email is undeliverable.. they all come back to me.... If he received the email.. fine.. no prob.. but it isnt delivered...
I thought to be "registered on GB.. you needed a valid email... yes he has feedback.. 3 of them...

If your e-mail is returned as undelivered, he has no idea you are trying to reach him. I've run into this on e-bay. Some addresses seem to be off limits by what ever reason. If he has 3 positive feedback I would not worry. In all probablility he will get a message to you where to send the money.I would wait a couple more days before I would take further action.

I have had a few auctions where the seller/buyer was using a firewall that did not allow my "Yahoo" email to come through. I used a different email address and the mail went through fine. If you have another email address, that you don't mind someone getting ahold of, you might try using it. If not, there are quite a few places to start a new email account, and try that.

If I knew then, what I know now.

The seller should also have received a message from GB that you were the winning bidder. He will probably contact you through that message.

BlackRoses, as both a buyer and seller, there have been times when email failed on one or both sides. I second what pickenup suggested - that cures the problem in many cases. Another possibility which I've encountered . . . if you have an email user name which is mostly numbers, it may trigger some anti-spam filters. Check your system clock. I've had email disappear into the bottom of my inbox because the sender's clock had the wrong year or month. Try a contact through the auction listing itself, if you've not already done so. Seller may have exceeded the storage capacity of his account on the server. I've encountered all these things, sometimes in combination. As a last resort, you can ask Admin for assistance, either by contacting the party or providing a telephone #. As a seller, I've had to call perhaps three people in the last year. eMail is no more reliable than the Post Office & perhaps less so.

Wait a couple more days if you want, but I would be second guessing completing this transaction if I were you. If it's this hard to get ahold of a seller BEFORE he has your money, wait and see how hard it is to get ahold of him AFTER he has your money.

JUST CALL THE SELLER USING THE NUMBER PROVIDED BY GUNBROKER. WORKS.

I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

Just an update... GB sent an email and it was returned as well.. so I phoned... the ph number listed was wrong... BUT.. I had a name... so I phoned 411 ... got the number..(new one)... made contact with the guy... and am getting my item...
He also told me that he needed to update his info, as he mostly sells on ebay, not GB...

Thanks for all the suggestions .. No, Classic is not getting another gun... *LMAO*

Glad to hear that things are moving along now. You have a name and an address to send the money to, if he falls short of his obligations from this point on, someone on here should be close enough to go over and adjust his attitude for you. ---Just kidding---. Let us know how it all works out.

If I knew then, what I know now.

Okay.. to keep you udated on this item... got an email from the person and the item went out today via Fedex.... he received my bank money order and shipped.. I have never known a money order to take a week and a half to get to its destination...but have to give the benefit of doubt....so I should get the item within a day or two... it sure has taken long enough

    Thanks for all the advice...

BR, sure hope you have a tracking number? If so, would strongly recommend you verify that it was actually shipped, and if not, that you firmly request same. Just two cents from Icon the cynic (sorry, Mudge).

So exactly what did you buy? Or aren't you going to tell us until it arrives?

FedEx's web site can take a tracking number and tell you what day your item will be delivered. If you didn't get one, you have a right to receive the tracking number asap. Sounds like you're okay though.

Sounds like this is one of those guys who doesn't take his auctions seriously enough. I don't like sloppy work, people who pretend they're bigger or busier than me, and impersonal e-mail. And then some people have a "what the hey" attitude about auctions that mystifies me, given the importance of feedback and the expectation of good e-mail these days. And they're usually the same ones that suddenly are bouncing off the walls if they get a negative, "Not truth!! Buyer revenge!!"

Some folks have a lot of feedback on eBay, but sell trinkets for a buck or two. I might sell something for a couple grand, but only have a couple hundred feedbacks since 1999. The guy with 4000 feedbacks treats people poorly on a 5, 10 or 20 dollar item and feels like it doesn't matter -- in fact, I'm still waiting for feedback from a seller on a $50 purchase because they "don't have time to always do feedback; please be patient; we MAY get to it eventually." What they're saying of course is they've gotten too big to handle customer service properly and often drop the ball, and should probably cut back on their auction volume, but they don't see it that way, I guess. In fact, they have a significant number of negatives, that clued me into the fact that I was going to have to be super detailed in all my e-mail and watch them like hawks. It worked, I got my stuff. Apparently, some people don't, and they don't follow up. It's buyer beware. Earth to seller, earth to seller......

If I neg someone, which I don't do very often, because I pick my sellers carefully, they've EARNED it.

The seller did not provide me with a tracking number, but I will wait a couple of days for the item to arrive, and if it doesnt, then I will ask for one...
The item I bid on was a pre ban magazine purchased for a friend who was looking for one....
Its not a large amount of money, its the principle ....I am one of those is "too honest".... I go back to an auction if they miss an item for a buck... Yep.. did it... bid on an item.. got it.. didnt get charged for it... so went back and paid for it...and I expect people I deal with to be as honest... Naive or what?...*LOL
