I like back draw for right hand and cross draw for left.

I use a cross draw for my .22 revolver, which I carry to administer the coup de grace while deer hunting, to avoid the splatter of a high-velocity head shot at close range. The cross draw carry keeps the sidearm out of the way till I need it.

Unfortunately, I haven't shot a deer this season, so haven't needed the .22. It has been a dead weight so far.

My .45 I wear strong side and my 9mm I wear sob. Both holsters are open top without retention straps.
