Anyone know if SIG is planning on chambering their 556 rifle in anything other than .223?
Comments
He shows me, and I hope I am right, a "sig - .556 with an eotech holographic sight"....I looked at the gun briefly and it looked pretty high tech. seemed a little flimsy. the holographic sight flipped over to expose other sighting options. was very clean but had been shot.
BUT...he wants to sell it for $2500.00. This seems high to me based on what I saw briefy and the 2 mins of looking at the auction side.
Tell me what to look for or ask about with this that makes it expensive...the guy is in a bind and I can help him, but I don't want to kill me.
Thanks, Thomas.
a little front heavy
backup sights are worthless
good sights are expensive
twist rate for heavier bullets
expensive for what you get
goes bang every time
if you are an AR fan you won't like it
I love it
edit...
trigger is surprisingly good
takes any AR-15 mag
not a target rifle

Pretty much sums up what I have also heard,........it is on my "short list".
I never pass up a chance to show mine off
I am going to put a side folder on mine. As far as what is said before pretty well covers it. I like the C-More site on mine and they cost about $200. I am an AR fan, but I do like this Sig though. If I did not have an MK 14 Mod 0 this would be my truck gun.

I'd have to agree with all but the 'expensive for what you get'. It's one of the cheapest quality piston ARs on the market right now.
I had my first one for about 10 months before I decided I wanted another ...
Keep in mind buying an "optic's ready" SiG is like buying a flat-top AR; you need some sort of sighting device. Unlike some, I like the fact that there are already a lot of aftermarket parts available to personalize mine.
A couple of my favorite things about the SiG is, it has a great trigger right out of the box and besides no "sproing" it has completely different type recoil ... more of a push back than a flip up which makes follow up shots quicker.
When they come out with a target model I'm sure I'll get one of those too ...
? otherwise, you'll find an excuse.
not a target rifle.
Not designed to be.
a little front heavy.
Yes, but that is a plus for controllability.
backup sights are worthless.
Not completely, but damn close. Hence the "backup" designation.
good sights are expensive.
twist rate for heavier bullets.
Another plus for me.
expensive for what you get.
Yep
goes bang every time.
Yep

Not true with me. I am a mulitple AR owner and like the Sig even better.
I love it.
Me too.

Yep and yep.
