Hey Guys...new to the boards here.....looking to buy a few guns here and I am a little confused as to how they will be shipped to me. I have read over the shipping terms and rules but I cant quite figure them out. I am not licensed in any way. I am hoping they can be sent to my home but am not sure. Any help would be great!

Hey there everyone. Im new to the forums and basically new to shooting. Before i actually got into rifles my previous experience with guns consisted of me borrowing my dads shotgun(870 express) and skeet shooting with my friend in his back yard. My collection now consists of a .22 marlin, my pops shotgun, and my newest piece of weaponry and current favorite is my Chinese type 56 SKS. It has an Ultralite side folding black polymer stock. Man i love that gun. But im looking for something new now. Im looking at maybe buying a Mosin nagant or maybe a german mauser. Any one know of any other guns in the same price range as your cheaper Mausers that can handle shooting almost every weekend? im looking for a shooter not a wall piece. Any info would be appreciated! thanks-Dave

    Howdy!

I got one thing to say: Mosin-Nagant, Big 5, $74.00.
    Well, maybe three things.

You've got a great battery as it is, just add a 1911 and a .30-06 and you're golden.

First let me welcome you to GB.

I like the Mosin's. I use an M-44 Mosin 7.62x54r as my primary hunting gun for Deer, Bear, and Pig.

It has plenty of power, ammo is fairly inexpencive (my last batch was $60 for 440 rounds), and they are very accurate. And like Orange said they are cheep. I paid 79.99 for each of mine.

I feel everyone should have at least 1 mosin in thier collection. I have 2 right now and will be getting atleast 3 more to sporterize for different uses.

Just my opinion, I'm sure you will get alot of different ones here on the forum!

Welcome to the forums. From the Lyrics to Hotel California "You can check-out anytime, but you can never leave." Enjoy your stay! This place is addicting.

A Mosin Nagant is a must have. I had an M44 that I loved, $35/440rds, lots of power, put a hurtin on your shoulder when shooting off a bench. Sadly I traded it for a sweet guitar.[8)]

    A 1911 is a must have

Save up some money after a while and by a nice bolt gun to cut out bullseyes with.
Half of the lives they tell about me aren't true.

Mausers and Mosins are good choices, but for ammo prices, 7.62x54r is cheaper to come by.

Hey there....since you already know about the Mauser and the Nagant....try the 6.5 or 7.5 Swiss. They are cheap to own and you can get bulk ammo at a good price if you want.

Don't be afraid of corrosive ammo. If you aren't an idiot you can handle the "down" side of it and it stores away a lot better than the non-corrosive stuff.

I reccomend a Springfield M1A SOCOM 16. Great brush gun. I modified mine, but it's not a requirement.

Id love to own an M1 garand, Or maybe the carbine version. But my dream gun would have to be an m-14.

I haven't used either a Mosin or a Mauser, so I can't say which one you should get.

But I can welcome you to the boards and wish you a long and pleasant stay.

BYW, good choice on the Norinco SKS. Great gun.
