This was a charity trap and turkey shoot for Hernando Co. Crime Stoppers Association as most of you know from the entry form posted on here a while back...

It was a big success and is going to be an annual event from now on...The food was great, the shooting was even better, the shooters all did a fantastic job and hours later, the winners were declared...

There were 3 divisions...
Junior ---- 1st 2nd and 3rd
Adult ---- 1st 2nd and 3rd
Senior ---- 1st 2nd and 3rd

Overall Top Shooter..

And of course there was the turkey shoot.. A total of 10 turkeys were given out...I had put in for my 4 shots and it was pretty close between one other person and myself for the one turkey...It was measured and the judge said he couldnt get a hair between the two shots they were that close (closest shot to the turkeys eye), after a lot of measuring, Tom took the turkey...

The trap shoot started at 8:30 this morning, with the different squads all shooting and then onto the handicap....Of course the totals were averaged and the winners announced...

Pic of the trophies...I accidently cut off the top of the trophies..

One squad shooting from the handicap line...

Winners in the Junior Divison....From Left to Right...1st place, C. Reeves, part of the Crime stoppers *.. 2nd place winner, and 3rd...Sorry, no names of children allowed to be posted..

These kids are all members of the 4H club that shoots every other Sunday at the club....And each one Classic has tutored in trap shooting...He was so proud today when they took all top prizes....

The winners of the Adult Divison had left before pics were taken but it was son/father combination that took first and second...

Winner of the Senior Division and Overall Top Shooter.. was

CLASSIC095....

My turn to be proud....He did great...

The door prizes were next and I ended up with a car wash, a flashlight and also a small pocket knife (schrade)...Overall a great day (long) but a lot of fun....A lot of money was raised for the Crime Stoppers Association, and a fun event is going to be held every year from now on....We had ppl stopping in just for the turkey shoot today cause they seen the sign on the road...They werent prepared to shoot, but we all lent them our glasses and had extra ear plugs...The same shotgun was used by all for the turkey shoot so you didnt need ammo or a gun...
It was great to be at the range again....been way too long and it was joy to see my hubby shooting...

As an afterthought, here is the turkey shoot paper that was close to Tom's...and actually Tom won....He was a hair closer to the eye than I was..

    dolfan...

There are a lot of 4H kids involved in shooting trap...Its a real pleausre to watch them...They listen to everything thing that is said, and so see the improvement in their shooting from week to week its like watching that kid grow a foot taller each time...

Guns are provided for the kids that dont have any and I know of a couple of shooters that have given the kids shotguns....SOme kids work it off little by little even after the person that gave the gun says NO....the kids want to pay so its worked out..

One little boy was so small the gun almost knocked him over with every shot...He was given a "smaller" gun, correctd on his stance, shown how to lean into it, and Classic worked with him every other week...Ought to see him now...he is one good shooter....

Wish more parents would check out the program,...get more kids involved...

    BR here..NOT CLASSIC...
