Hey All...like a bad penny, I'm Baaaaack!
I just got back from Wyoming at 4 am this morning. As usual, I had some honeydo's to complete and now that they are finished, I'm gonna bring all ya'll up to current on my trip.
I left last Wed at 3 am and drove through to Colby Kansas where I stopped and had dinner with Sodbuster and part of his family. It's been some years since "Sod" and I have seen one another and I guess our relationship has soured as he "suggested" I eat Mexican food. Tasted good that night...but, I felt its' vengefullness the next morning! Just kidding Larry, I love ya Bro, but, it will be some time before I eat spicy again.
I will say right now that I had hoped to have sat down with Wundudnee and 96Harley, but, given some unforseen circumstances and times of departure, I spoke to both, but, could not connect. Wundudness was gracious enough to offer me a bed and cook me breakfast. Truly an outstanding measure of friendship...I appreciate it Scotty. Maybe next time.
Me with Sodbuster. Had a nice dinner with him and his family.
Well, here I am with my harvest.
...and here I am with my Guide. 'Mona was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! This young lady is also a Taxidermist. But, I'm here to tell you, she is one great guide. She put me within 300 yds of this buck, despite its' having 20-30 does acting as look-outs.
Message to GHD! 25-06, 117 grain, SPBT, 53 grains of 4350...it went down HARD in its' tracks!
Here's my buddy with his buck. OH! Did I say Mona was a great guide? This was Mike's first kill with a rifle, as he is a bow hunter. Mona got him within 50 yds!!!!
This outfitter is a family owned and operated venture and all the cooking was done by Corey, Steve's wife. Wonderful Lady, Very good cook and terrific human being. I can't say enough about this experience (just call her Mom)
For any of you thinking of a guided hunt in Wyoming, you cannot go wrong with this camp. Steve is a Big man with a big heart and he runs a good operation. It's not a fancy camp, but, he get's you in a position to get game...Mike and I limited out the first day. We saw a ton of game and made OUR choice of shot. No pressure to shoot the 1st thing you see. Just had a great time and met lots of good people.
Well, I needed the vacation. It has been 3 long years since my last one and I'm now thinking about the next one. I hope you enjoy looking at the pic's as I sure as heck enjoyed being in them.

Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the hunting report and pics. I enjoyed them[:)]
Congrats on the kill(s) and on the trip. Don't wait three more years, though, as you never know...[^]
P.S. Who is the big guy with the beard and the Harley shirt?[:0][;)]
Nice shot Greeker!
That big guy with the Harley shirt is none other than da' Sodbuster guy (as if you didn't know.
...and he sends his best to you as well.
Glad you did good, had a good time, and got home safe Greeker. Oohpah!
Those are some kick * pics. [8D]
What do they charge for an antelope hunt? Do they have Mule Deer in the area also?
Thanks,
Ed
My antelope hunt was 3 days, food and lodging $1,300 plus tips and travel expenses. They offer Mule Deer and Antelope combo's, Elk, Black Bear and Whitetail Deer as well.
While there, I met hunters who had hunted with Steve for many years
and were definite about returning. He does Elk, Mules, Whitetail and Black Bear - Rifle & Bow/3-7 day hunts - $1,300 to $4,450.
The processor they use cut, vaccumn sealed and froze our 'Lopes and had them ready for us to p/u in less than 24 hrs. Cost about $80.
Anybody have any other questions send me a PM.
Greeker
And yes he looks completely at home in the flannel.
In my humblest of opinions,,, the polyester shirt, synthetic belt, and britches aren't really his thing.
As I told Mike,,, If not now,,,when???
If you folks have a dream hunt,,, live that dream in reality!!!
It was cool to be a part of Greekers dream hunt,,, Adventure!!![8D]
