The Post about "Horse meat" got me thinking about all the types of meats I have consumed. I hunt a lot, and I grew up in the South in a family that hunted all the time. That is why there is so much wild game listed here.

Beef (Bovine-COW)
Buffalo
Deer (White Tail)
Caribou
Elk
Bear (Black)
Horse
Lamb
Goat
Pork (Wild & Domestic)
Turkey (Wild & Domestic)
Chicken
Grouse
Pheasant
Dove
Quail
Duck's (too many types to name)
Goose (Snow & Canadian)
Ginny fowl
Possum
Squirrel
Armadillo
Raccoon
Ground Hog
Porcupine
Rattle Snake
Alligator
Octopus
Shark
Fish (both fresh & salt water, but too many to name)
Snails (escargot)

I have a rather eccentric friend in central Georgia who is a professional crow hunter. He takes clients out on guided crow hunts, if you can believe that. Last I checked, he was making about 45K annually doing it, if you can believe that.
Sometimes he cooks them up. Marinates the breast, and cooks 'em on the grill. Dark meat, it is pretty good.

A friend at work was telling me about a recent trip to Outback Steakhouse. He got the BBQ's Porkchops. After a few bites the flavor reminded him of something. He could figure it out, until he was just about to finish his dinner. Jill was her name, so now the pork chops are labeled Jill Chops.
Half of the lives they tell about me aren't true.

Lets just say I've eaten a lot of things that might not be palatable and would seem unusual to western taste's but with the generous application and accompaniment of the local alcohol and the peer pressure by my foreign host's.............. a lot happened I wish to never repeat (Inebriated or not).[xx(][:I]

I have eaten some really unusual things in different parts of the world.

Camel and Kangaroo come to mind as a few of the more unique dishes.

In the middle east you can buy camel steaks in the grocery store, the meat is really tough and chewy, not so great, Kangaroo is a little better and most butcher shops in Australia and tazmania have it available.

And here in the states, since I'm a survival instructor if it moves and I kill it, I have no problem eating it.

We can make this a little more interesting by talking about TYPES of meats you've eated. EG: Sheep brains, prairie oysters, etc.

I once ate fried goat brains at some ethnic restaurant in Jersey City; I think it was Indian. It tasted kind of like an omelette, but it was full of spices.

Had the Haggis in Scotland (Tastes like spicy meaty oatmeal. . .which is exactly what it is). Alligator in New Orleans (yup, tastes like chicken). Most reptiles and amphibians apparently do.

Had some good sashimis: Octopus, abalone, eel, mackerel (which I love), squid.

Beef heart on the grill isn't bad.

One time ordered the duck-blood soup off a menu in a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown in Boston (this was one where the natives went), but they claimed they were "out of it". (I think they were just embarrased to serve it to a round eye).

Things that I haven't tried? Elk, Moose, Dog, Cat.
