    Oh yes!!
I once held a group of 23 Honey Badgers at bay,for 72 hours!!
Their was a gay white man doing commentary, from somewhere out of my line of sight,as well!![:I]
I never had to fire a shot, the mere sight of my .999 cal SUPER MAG. was enough to quell any attack!!

I have killed two rattlesnakes. Well, one-and-a-half. Wife and I were both shooting at that one, so we share credit.

To be fair, I ordered it to halt and fired a warning shot. Problem with snakes, you are always shooting them in the back.

    I'm out of green ink.

I was pretty sure I was gonna have to defend myself from a bull moose once. Was pretty glad I didn't have to shoot it. Would have been hard to explain to the game officer(s).

We have an invasion of zombie doves that starts the first weekend of every September. I forgot to ad the zombie whitetail, occasional nutria and ducks. There may even be a few zombie gators harvested this year.

One final edit, forgot to ad that I use a gun to defend myself from all of these zombified species. I use a different long arm for each one if it makes a difference.

There are also the zombie bass, crappie, brim, redfish, catfish, and speckled trout. I usually use a rod-n-reel to defend myself from those those.

I did, Chicago, South Side 1983 or there abouts. Had to put a 38 derringer on the forehead of a fellow that wanted a quarter and would not take no for an answer. His four buddies backing him up in "asking" decided a quarter was easier to get elsewhere. I was NEVER so scared in my life.

Two occassions. No shots fired. The presence of the gun was sufficient.

Prairie dogs, man. Never turn your back on 'em.

They'll have you outflanked and trapped in the classic pinscher maneuver in no time. They'll cut your supply lines and the next thing you know, you're fixing bayonet to save your sorry hide.

    God.

    Still gives me nightmares.

Used a goverment issued rifle many times to save my and other bottoms. Just go to war and hide until they come for you. They will you know. Stupid question.

Thankfully the presentation of my golden concealed weapon's permit badge diffused the situation and I convinced the perpetrator's to approach the first law enforcement officer they encountered and confess to their past indiscretion's.

I have entered one situation that I would not have entered had I not been armed.

Two transients/bums/homeless (whatever) were going through the pockets of an unconscious feller who was wearing shorts and a light jacket on a sidewalk. It was around 5 degrees outside, and I was concerned that the boy in shorts was not long for this world.

I stopped, had the wife dial 911 and approached the trio.

Had I not been armed, I would have stayed in the Jeep and waited for the police. Being armed allowed for me to approach them and stop what was going on and render assistance to the victim.

Officer arrived within 5 minutes. I told him I thought the guy in shorts was in danger of dying, gave him my contact information, he let me know the situation was in hand and I left.

No one knew I was armed at the time, and it was an issue only to me in that it allowed for inserting myself into a situation where I could help, but would have been reluctant to do so absent the ability to protect myself had it gone south.

    Tragic friendly fire incident.

I find myself wanting to do that a lot lately.

As to the original question, have been fortunate enough that I have never been put in that position.

I used my Smith & Wesson 49 to persuade an angry man with a jack handle to get the heck away from my truck window.

When I was just a kid, I was riding with a friend around the roads in a lake park. Some very drunk/high partiers in the park thought it might be fun to block our path and see what sport they might make of us. There were two of us, and maybe 15 of them, not good odds. I leaned out the window with my old Winchester 37 single shot 16 gauge, and leveled it at the lead party boy. Without saying a word, he got the message: I might not get all of them, but I was damn sure going to get him. They decided to pursue other interests.

I was in a pawn shop once when I was looking at the handguns under the glass top. While I was standing there minding my own business some guy came up and asked me if I needed any help. I said yes I was going to die if I didnt buy that custom built 45 LC with all the fancy gizmos on it . He complied and thus was saved by the aid of a gun
