They had a record low temperature for the high today in Atlanta. The high was 56 degrees which broke the old record of 58 back in the 1950s.

It was lower than that here in Hampton. Supposed to get down to 44 tonight.

Every time I hear the dry heat thing I think of one of the guys I used to work with who was sent to South Texas on a job. His wife called one day and he was complaining that it was 110 degrees in the shade and she said at least it's a dry heat.

About a week later she came down to spend a few days with him and she was admitted to the hospital with a heat stroke on the first day. I asked him if he mentioned the dry heat thing to her? He said he wasn't that brave. [:D]

Fire is a dry heat too!

I grew up in it, and I hate worse every year.

I would much rather sweat than be cold. That is a very pretty picture and I'm guessing a little patience and a good rifle and there are a few tasty little Javelina around....

Used to be that way for me . But now my BP meds make it real hard to take heat. And I have found that the cold is not so bad.

As for dry heat, so is an oven.:)

Capt Fun, that area is loaded with javelina and mule deer.

This morning tv said it's gonna be in the 70s this week so maybe it'll be another month or so before "real" summer sets in......

The problem is, when it hits 112-115 the sweat evaporates before you get any benefits from it!

There is an old saying here in these northern parts where I live.

You can always dress for the cold, for heat your screwed![;)]

My standing rule at work is that when it hits 95 work stops. I just can't take the heat like that. I can work in a T-shirt down into the thirtys, but the heat just kills me. We had a couple of 75 degree days last week and it was almost too much after the cool winter and spring we've been having.
You can add layers in the cold, you can only strip down so far in the heat before they arrest you for indecent exposure!
    Pretty picture, though!
