No Federal Employees working today

Googled: is today a federal holiday

Answer:
Close Today, January 16th, 2017, is a federal holiday. All non-essential federal employees are off work in observance of Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr..

Add a "d" to Close and it looks like pretty much like every other day of the week. Essential Federal Employee ?? Who would that be?

    Did say Non Essential,, but hey,, to be more specific,,

    Should have read: Employees paid by the Federal Government and NOT engaged in national security functions.

    The USPS observes MLK's birthday. So,, is Amazon Prime an essential service,, maybe, but my guess is those working today will get ANOTHER DAY off of their choosing or get overtime (straight time) or ?

    Not much any other day. Take into consideration the coffee breaks lunch breaks and generally slow production and you might I say MIGHT get three hours of labor out of a eight hour day.
    Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

    Retired for 11 years and we're still unsure about what to call vacations and days off! Vacations we've pretty much settled on "road trips". However, days off; they're pretty much yesterday, today, or tomorrow. [:D]
